I don’t think Vegas would trade Karlsson and he is on the first year of an eight year contract. I’m sure interested in Glass and even more interested in Peyton Krebs, their first pick from last year. If you are talking about moving DeAngelo, it’s got to be a value for value trade. Vegas is a win now team.

Maybe I’m being greedy but I’d want more than just Krebs for DeAngelo. But Krebs is the kind of player I’m trying to get.

I was thinking along the lines of the Carolina pick+ but that certainly works for me to. Vegas cap situation is scary. Was looking at Stastny too if we really want to blow it out.

Maybe we can free up some space and then get Krebs for the Carolina pick plus taking back some salary.

I know this will be dismissed by many, but Chytil needs to win face offs consistently if he is going to center a top 6 line. You can't afford to cede possession constantly when your most dangerous offensive player is on the ice. Faceoff wins isn't a sexy stat on a message board but the whole analytical shift is rooted in possession. The past season matched his career 38.8 win %.

@eco's bones just because I can’t quote you from the other thread...

I am 100% in agreement in that I LOVE Brady Tkachuk...really both Tkachuk brothers. I’d do a lot to get either. I have said it multiple times on this board before, multiple times, that those are the type of players you win with. They are hard to find. Ones that can play with snarl, an edge, and also back it up with talent and ability. So I mean yeah like I said it would be an extremely tough call. And thats also because I like Byfield and Stutzle.

I know we wouldnt get this offer but man, if OTT offered Tkachuk and the #3 + #5, then I think that would be a done deal for me. The thing about Lafreniere is he is ready now. He has that same edge to his game, when needed, to go out and do what it takes to win a championship. I think he will be way more effective than Kakko was in year one. And while he is not McDavid or Crosby, he is right in the tier below imo, which will always be better than Tkachuk and Byfield/Stutle, who I think all will be very good players but I think Laf is more of a guarantee.

Again I dont think OTT would offer/accept that deal but thats what it would take. And why they may consider it is because they already have a lot of assets, Laf is french canadian and can be the center of their franchise for the next decade. Lot of hype around him. Tkachuk is great to watch, but fans will flock to see Laf play. Thats the only way we get those 3 pieces in a trade.

Krebs was one of my favorite prospects from 19 draft. I thought he he should’ve gone 5 -10 somewhere. Injury likely factored. I think he’s got the tools and the skill but also the leadership.

He needs to be better than 38.8, but face offs are really only important situationally and Chytil isn't going to be taking those draws. On the whole, they're incredibly overrated.

You can get a puck back after you lose a face off. Malkin is like a career 40% guy in the FO circle and while I won't dare compare the 2 of them, it hasn't really hurt him at all.

Why do people keep talking about Cirelli ZERO chance he’s traded

maybe we could OS him but that’s the closest we could get

As much as I want NYR to keep Kravstov, is it time to move him for a similar C prospect? Could something be had around Kravstov for Vlardi, Comtois, or Tomasino? That or do you think Buch will be the odd man out when Krav is ready?

K'Andre being raved about in bubble camp and him spending time with Kreider this offseason, maybe he really pushes for a spot out of training camp

he might and its great to see the positive end to his season but I wouldn't get ahead of ourselves and I think we should still expect him to play in the AHL this year. if he makes it that is a bonus...

I think we should also keep in mind that he looked great in practice/scrimmages against the rangers, considering how the rangers looked against carolina that bar might not have been very high lol

kravstov is 20 years old and was drafted 2 years ago. it is not time to move on from anything, jesus christ, let's try a little patience....

I'm not saying to move him because he's a bust, I'm more so saying to move him for another prospect that fills our need at C since NYR wings seem to be set unless NYR opt to move Buch over Krav

cause TB has no cap space and 'eventually they can't keep everyone' it hasn't panned out the last 5 times we hoped to steal someone from them but maybe this time it will be different

on potentially targeting Glass or Krebs...would love to get either, would need more for ADA though....but if you want either to be an option, start rooting for the blackhawks to pull the upset cause vegas is less likely to deal away top prospects to fix their blueline if the current blueline goes deep into the playoffs

Our fan base is notoriously impatient lol. Even last year people were questioning whether a 18 year old Kakko was going to Be a bust which is ridiculous lol

Thank you for your response. I figured as much and fully agree with you. I was just looking for actual numbers versus the cap.

New York Rangers - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Hank has an 8.5 mil cap hit and Staal has a 5.7 mil cap hit. If either retires, their entire cap hit comes off the books.

Money is really tight this year, so if Hank were to retire, that would help us immensely.

Tampa has literally 5.3 mill in cap space and they have 6 roster spots to fill.

Their more expendable players (Palat/Johnson/Killorn/Gourde) all have NTC's. The teams that could theoretically take them on are the likes of NJD and OTT. Those guys are NOT going to waive to go to those places.

Sergachev is also an RFA. They're going to lose at least one of them I'd think.

While Panarin does improve the players he plays with - you need to be talented, and have a style that he can mesh with.

Look at Fast. Yeah yeah, great along the boards and wins 1-on-1 battles.. Hard worker. Great hustler. Blah blah blah.. He single handedly cost Panarin another 5-10 points this year with some of his blunders offensively. I specifically recall him missing like 3, wide open, Ray Charles could score this shit opportunities.

Strome, despite all of his warts, could at least bury a lot of the gifts Panarin sent his way. Strome also managed the create plays that put Panarin in prime scoring positions.

I’m not here advocating we sign Strome longterm.. The dumbass and unnecessary penalties he takes alone makes me want to waterboard him..

But let’s not make pretend he isn’t a skilled and talented player. He is. 100%. Great vision. Good shot. Good passer. And reads/anticipates plays very quickly, which is a key thing when playing with Panarin.

There are better scapegoats than him... And that’s who we should rightfully pick on!

f*** You Marc Staal. Retire. Go Away.

I wish there was a 'love' button

what's the feeling on trading Kreider + CAR 1st + Deangelo for 2nd overall (Byfield)

A legitimate top 6 PWF, a 50+ point Top 4 defenseman, and a 1st round pick (20-23) for Byfield. Might not be enough.

LA is in rebuild mode. They don't want Kreider.

Jesus Christ Almighty Kreider IS NOT being traded. They just resigned him a few months ago and I believe he has a NMC or NTC clause for a few years. Not sure why some keep bringing it up lol

That's why you put the team's best faceoff man next to him...that being Kreider.

Thank you. Can we please put a ban on either Kreider or Trouba trade proposals? They aren't happening.
Agreed. Look I was t a big fan of the Trouba contract but he isnt going anywhere and even if we could move him it would make us look dumb for signing him to a big contract then trading him right away
