Nylander from Toronto i'm assuming? If so, i wouldn't do it. Nylander isn't the guy we should be adding and where is he going to play? How much cap do we need to invest in wingers?

2nd line center is my guess but I doubt Toronto is looking for a fines dman as a return.

I guess the reasoning could be that he'd likely increase the scoring potency of our top 6. Current top 6 wingers outside of Panarin are CK, Buch and I guess Kakko. We all want Buch to turn into a 60pt winger, Nylander is already there while being a year younger...
If you could get Nylander and trade Buch for a useful return I'd be at least interested

Nylander is not soft, actually. He can play Center too. Matter of fact I’m pretty sure he was centering Hyman + Kap most of the game tonight.

Nylander makes Buch expendable too if your prefer to use him at RW. So, theoretically, Buch/ADA out and Nylander + C/LD in.

4 more years at 7M which takes him to 28 years old. Steady 60 point player who can easily surpass that.

Don’t sleep on Nylander. He instantly becomes our 3rd best forward (who hasn’t peaked yet).

Their fanbase doesn’t seem to like the idea.. Especially with Rielly.. But, in all honesty, ADA would have helped them quite a bit with their transition + PP this series.

Nylander is a guy I think actually would be a good option at center. Even AK might approve of that one.

If I wan running that team, I’d want someone who’s actually going to be able to eat top pairing minutes for Nylander.

I don't think they'll have any interest in bringing Barrie back. They could get DeAngelo and hope that he brings what they thought they'd get from Barrie, but I agree that's not what they'd be interested in.

So trade an asset for Nylander and then trade another asset to make up for the one we traded for Nylander. I wouldn't do it. Find our own 2c

Toronto is not getting a top pairing dmen for Nylander though. However, ADA replaces a great chunk of offense they lose with Nylander, as well as some personality and attitude. You saw what an impact Lemieux had for us in G3 against Carolina. A healthy ADA provides that.

Plus, ADA takes a lot of pressure off Rielly.

Yeahhh, probably not happening but as far as “value” goes it’s not that off imo.
