I still would not rule out Georgiev being part of a package.
Well there’s always the off chance he meant QuinnIt did sound like Gorts really lost faith in some aspects of the team to the point that he will want to make some changes. Like to me at least it definitely felt like his was paving way for cutting some ties.
Thing is — there can’t be many aspects of the team for him to lose faith in, right?
Goaltending? Nope.
Right defense? Trouba was good, Fox is still a rookie and TDA was hurt.
Left defense? Lindgren was fine and the dinosaurs actually were pretty fine too. But like it just don’t fit. It can’t be that he now felt boom I want to drop Staal and Smith. If he could have he would have a long time ago.
Kreider, Zib, Panarin and co are off the table for obvious reasons.
Buch wasn’t bad, but he must be lifted by Zib to really perform at the highest level and it’s not his fault that Zib, Panarin and co were off. Could be traded, but that has been a train in motion a long time now.
Kakko is still in diapers. Fast played 75% of a shift. Lemieux only played one game.
So what then? Who have he lost faith in? The only guys left are Strome, Chytil, Howden, DiGiuseppi, McKegg and Gauthier. I thought Gauthier was fine and DiGiuseppi and McKegg prolly had no faith of Gorton to start with.
Strome, Chytil and/or Howden?

When it comes down to it, aside from the usual realistic names I do not think that anyone is really off the table at this point.I still would not rule out Georgiev being part of a package.
Theoretically, if Nashville was looking to make major changes this off-season and was willing to move on from Kyle Turris for practically nothing while retaining some of his contract would anyone be interested? Say the offer was:
Turris @ $4m cap hit (Nashville retains $2m) for Crawley + Ronning
When it comes down to it, aside from the usual realistic names I do not think that anyone is really off the table at this point.

how is turris @4 mil per for 4 years better than just keeping strome?
Thanks for the precise information.Full NMC the first 4 years, transitions to a MNTC/NMC with 15-team no-trade for final 3 years
EDIT: You were looking at his current deal, which is always listed as the top deal on CF. The upcoming deal is right below. So yes, right now, until the official offseason begins, he has a 11-team no-trade on his current contract.
That sounds like he’s done in exchange for a front office job. Hank really wasn’t that bad though...like to the point where he could feel like he could still play. Maybe it’s about the NMC?
interesting, and vague.
They have ~5.3M in space right now with 10F-3D-2G signed. RFA's are Cirelli, Sergachev, Stephens, Verhaeghe, and Cernak. UFAs are Maroon, Shattenkirk, Rutta, Bogosian, and Schenn.
Most of their players are under some form of NTC/NMC/MNTC except for Goodrow (1/.925), Coleman (1/1.8), McElhinney (1/1.3), or Paquette (1/1.65). Point and Vasi don't have them, but Tampa isn't trading them. In total, those four contracts are 5.675M, so they could make ~11M in space available
Here's the compensation tiers:

The Rangers could probably push for the higher end of the 6.34M-8.46M tier to force Tampa's hand on one of Sergachev/Cirelli. Obviously the Rangers have some cap/roster considerations to make as well.
That's the real gangster move.Thanks!!!
Got to say, that 6-8m comp for Sergachev isnt that bad either...
