If you get Lafreniere, and he pans out, there is a good chance the core of the team is shifted dramatically moving forward. So, worrying about who moves down a line or moves out of position is quite besides the point in regards to the decisions the team would make going forward.

Separately -- i've watched a bunch of Lundell footage from this season. I was very aware of his WJC. the thing that's so striking? How does Finland teach skating? These big guys like Kakko hunch over so much when they skate. Their burst, first step is just not very explosive. It feels like a pattern with much of their promising talent. Big dudes. But the NA skating style seems far more upright.

This is the lineup After some stuff

Pan R Strome Kakko
Buch Zibs Chytil
Krieder D Strome Kravtsov
Lemmy Howton Gauthier
DiG

Lindgren Fox
Maataa Trouba
Staal/Hajek ADA

Igor
Khudobin

You're missing Lafreniere at Wing on one of the first two lines and don't forget him on the first pp unit. Get Strome off of it.

What about trying to make Kravtsov a C?

See I think he should get a look at center in the AHL- it gives him and the Rangers a reason to learn how to develop a two-way game. If he is up for the challenge, and see's himself as one of the great talents to come out of Russia, then you get a 6'4" 215-220 LB center with size, speed and elite skill.

Dude is a silky smooth passer, and as a center, I can see him being far more deceptive and effective with his passing. That being said, you have an organic opening witch Lias going back to Sweden. The Rangers really don't have a stable top 4 center group with additional depth, and you have a young, skilled, and I dare say very willed young player who needs to improve his game away from the puck to get an NHL look.

If that growth and effort is triggered by a positional change, and an understanding between the player, and a clear development path with milestones for Vitali to hit, such as off-ice strength and conditioning goals, I believe- that VK can be an absolute monster down the middle. If he does take this to task, and consistently addresses the following on ice responsibilities....
  • Does he move his feet in the right direction, with a purpose to make the right play?
  • And does he do this every shift?
...he could turn out to be an absolute star.

If not, then his talent is going to get himself and everyone around him enigmatic looks of brilliance before being moved on from because no one thinks they'll win with him.

Whatever position Kravtsov plays he needs to start in the NHL, its poop or get off the pot time for him.

Just tear up the letter, start trading 1st round picks so we can fall short for another decade. Can't wait
Instead of being patient and trying to build a team that can have one long window, it feels like they're trying to build one that maybe has two small windows. But that's just my gut feeling and I'm sure there's plenty of people who will disagree with me

There's not a lot of patience to go around (including the front office), so we're not really getting a proper rebuild anyway
Why not? Including this year this will be 8 first round picks in the last 4 drafts and most likely 4 top 10 picks. Not even including trades for guys like ADA, fox and Lindgren. I think we are getting the pieces it’s getting the development going in the right direction.
I’m with you in terms of rushing talent tho. Not rushing these kids and putting them in the best place to succeed has now become the main factor.
