thats how it works in the nba...I don't think you can actually trade picks on draft day so team A will tell team B 'if you take this guy with your pick, we will take your guy with our pick' and then they trade the players. its a bit weird but also takes away the gamble of moving down.

I wouldn't do that. Just draft the franchise talent. We'll reach for guys rated in the teens with picks 3 and 5. Just pick Laf

DeAngelo doesn't get you a whiff of 2nd overall. Only way that happens is by some miracle the Kings are willing to trade down from #2 to whatever pick the Rangers have because they think they can still get Askarov there and pick up an additional asset.

It does but it's a good problem to have. We'll finally have a generational talent and whoever is on the 3rd line wouldn't matter since they (Laf or Kreider) can just feast on teams bottom 6. Worry about that when we get there, can't pass up the opportunity for a possible franchise player. It opens up a lot of other options because then Kreider becomes a possible trade option and we can use that space somewhere else.

After monday, things will be easier to plan because right now, i'm getting too excited for Laf.

If the RANGERS DO NOT GET #1 (Mercy Me) I expect them to draft Kaiden Guhle as their pick at around #10/11/12. Their later 1st round pick might be upgraded (using assets), if the right guy is available, to get a center...

Guhle is interesting, big physical d who move like him always intrigue me but that would not be a good pick that high.

Not Zary or Holloway horrible, but definitely not good. All about taking Guhle with their 2nd pick though.

yep, i officially got my hopes up. Oh well, if we don't win 1st overall, i can always trade for the 1st overall pick in NHL 20.
