The sad thing is, he'd be the ideal pick for the Rangers with a second first.

The problem is the first is looking to be just too damn far away to get into range for him.
Can always trade DeAngelo for him. Or Kreider. Or Trouba

I know a lot of people don’t like him but he is always the first one to defend his teammates

tony is very well liked in the room.

i think hes earned the respect of his teammates and to some degree even his coach.

when you are that talented and that outspoken, you need to measure things he does and determine if its malicious or just his personality.

if its the later, you live and let live.

we. are. too. easily. butt hurt. these days.

The beauty of Fast is that he can play up and down the lineup depending on the need. You are not going to have everyone available for every game. Fast can move to any line and fill a need. I don't think the plan was ever to play him with Panarin this year but look what happened. He kills penalties, plays the shift after the power play when other teams usually counter with their first line and is by all accounts a leader in the locker room. He is very valuable to any team, especially this one.

He's signed for a bit longer than I would like but I'll say that Tyler Johnson does interest me as a potential Strome replacement. Similarly skilled and versatile, quicker, and is a considerably better defensive player that can also kill penalties.

I wouldn't hate this idea although his size concerns me a little bit.

I’m still pissed the way Fasts Ranger career ended. I know hometown discounts are few and far between but wouldn’t mind Fast back. All come down to money and fitting him in

No matter what anyone thinks on this board, Howden is apparently very popular and respected in the locker room and by management. In addition to DeAngelo's comments, I had a conversation with Ryan Strome at an event and Howden came up. He had a ton of respect and admiration for #21. Couldn't stop gushing about him.
I'm really confident he will take a massive leap once he turns into a 'man'. He should be with Kreider right now. Deadlifting and squatting.

His first step can be improved and it should, with some work. His strength will come with the similar hard work. I dont see these as major hurdles. Just need to have patience.

Always try to find glass half full with every player (was a big Skjei Defended for most of his time here) but I really don’t see much in Howden. I’m sure he busts his ass every practice and every game but not sure he anything more than a 4th line player. But like some say he’s still super young and a first round pick so we shall see

Domi comes with a big buyer beware label.

The take in Arizona (where he clashed with Tocchet) was that he was a 'different kind of guy'

And I think this very accurate and incredibly important for this board to understand.

While I do think there's a great reward to be had here, there's a substantial risk involved as well.

I wouldn't have Zib on top line with two inexperienced players. If they want to put Laf there then but Buch on the right. Or have Kreider on the left and Kakko on the right. I kind of like Kreider on a third line with FC and Kravtsov/Gauthier. Get a vet on each of the top three lines.

Lag-Zib-Buch
Bread-Strome/new 2c-Kakko
Kreider-Chytil-Kravtsov/Gauthier
Lemeuix-Howden-Fast (if he's here)
