I'm not sure this is a Lindros-level package. Let's be honest, they would ask for Kakko to start. Buch and TDA are guys who will need contracts (not that cap space would be a problem for them), but would those two players want to commit long-term to Buffalo? Chytil and the first are nice pieces, but how do you sell your fans/team on that?

Hagelin had some skill though but was so all over the place he didn't have a big effect, Fast has excellent timing, sticks with a task like few do, and is twice as physical.

The only thing I meant by Lindros is that there is a lot of potential (and yes, unknown) but a lot of potential in it

Exactly! Underrated, had to replace, no worth ~$4M... Gaustad, ok?

We seem lucky with Fedotenko's, Betts's and Moore's. Prust, too. Boyle. maybe DiGiuseppe? It might take two guys to have his effect but he's replaceable for sure. I want to see DG and Chytil together a lot. I'd offer 2.7 tops. He'll get 3-4 elsewhere.
 
I wouldn’t trade ADA as part of a package for Eichel. Trouba? Yes. Strome? Yes. Buchnevich? Yes. Kakko? Maybe. ADA should get a good young 2C on his own.

That's not an accurate statement. His game throughout his career has been built around using his size and if he isn't able to do that because he is weaker than other players then his game suffers. Give him time, this crappy offseason doesnt help much because it was a critical offseason for him but hopefully he has been able to put some work in. The Howden hate around here is over done, the guy just turned 22 a few months ago. Maybe he never fills out and this is what he is but he needs time to find out

A young 60 point defenseman in DeAngelo and a young 50 or so point player in Buchnevich? Not saying that Eichel is not worth it, but that is giving a lot. Adding Chytil and the 1st is really giving a lot.

I'm doubtful Eichel ever gets traded but if DeAngelo was the only reason you didn't trade for him, then that would likely be your last day as GM.

I think it'd stand the test of time if not the test of public opinion. ADA is looking like a PPG RD and is only 24. We already have a great 1C. Eichel would set us for sure, but theres more than one way to skin a cat. If they were to balk at say Kakko, Trouba and a 1st, and insist on ADA, then I'm fine finding a 2C elsewhere.
 
Eichel 90% isn't going to get moved.

If the 10% ends up coming into play here, I'd be shocked if he didn't end up a Ranger. People can talk about NJD all they want but if losing is the sole thing driving him out of Buffalo, that isn't going to change by going to Newark, where they're probably in even worse shape.

@bernmeister What do you think about making an documentary? "Searching for @RangerBoy". I take a flight to JFK with the toothbrush in my backpocket where you meet me, and we take on NYC. Think it could be Academy Award materia. We start following up leads. Print old posts with clues about his habits and plaster a wall with them. Stake outs. The whole thing.

Please note: I've not run it by the mrs. yet.

How many points does Eichel get playing with Panarin and Kakko? 110, 120? DeAngelo is a great offensive dman but we can replace him in house. Fox can jump on pp1 and get similar points with Zib, Panarin and Kreider and Eichel, DeAngelo is better on the pp but I'm doubtful that adding Eichel and Fox and subtracting DeAngelo makes our pp worse or adding Eichel and say Lindqvist and losing DeAngelo makes us worse 5 on 5. Fox had 42 points this year without playing on pp1. We could draft for 30 years(we have) and not get an Eichel. I still don't think Buffalo trades him much less to NY but that's my opinion.
