* 24 teams in 2 "hub" cities will compete in Seeding Round Robins, a Qualifying Round and Conference-based Stanley Cup Playoffs.
* The 2 "hub" cities will be selected from among the following:
- Chicago, IL
- Columbus, OH
- Dallas, TX
- Edmonton, AB
- Las Vegas, NV
- Los Angeles, CA
- Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Toronto, ON
- Vancouver, BC
* Each Conference is assigned a "hub" city with secure hotels, arena, practice facilities and in-market transportation.
* Teams will be limited to 50 personnel in the "hub" city with only a small number of support staff permitted to enter the event areas.
* Timing and sites will be determined at a future date and will be dependent on COVID-19 conditions, testing ability and government regulations.
Unless Canad lifts its orders that people need to quarantine for two weeks before entry into the country, they will have a hard time getting one of the hub cities.

Quinn doing an interview on Humpty, Canty and Rothenberg said that Kreider would've only missed one more game if we didn't shut it down

Was going to play on the first Monday

And I am having a hard time with seeing how they can possibly fit his salary in.

If they trade ADA and Strome this off-season while buying out Staal there's a chance. Gorton would have to get a bit creative and it depends on where the cap is set, along with the Hank situation but it's possible

I'm still having trouble determining a legit landing spot for Eichel that isn't the Rangers if he were indeed available.

Given that he lacks no-trade protection, he could really wind up anywhere. Sure, he might not want to end up on another bottom-dweller, but if that team offers Buffalo the most enticing package then I'm sure Botteril would be content to let them deal with the fallout from that. I also don't think they'd let the division rival thing get in the way.

Trouba does NOT need to be in for cap.

The team has buyouts available, Smith to send the other way as filler, and either ADA or Strome as RFAs who are going to require meaningful contracts this summer that could go back as meaningful parts of the return.

I understand Trouba has become a whipping boy around here (though it blows my mind), but I don't see the team trading him any time soon.

I can't see this kind of trade happening unless someone like Trouba (whipping boy argument aside) or Kreider goes the other way. The cap implications when it comes to resigning players like Zib, Fox and Kakko and whoever else has to be considered. Trouba's NTC kicks in July and no idea if Buffalo is on Kreider's NMC list but someone on the books would have to be going back. Could easily fall into a Toronto situation. Tough to see Gorton and JD being ok with about half the cap being spent on 3-4 players.

Anything is possible, but then ZBad comes for extension. I just do not see how this is remotely possible to get under the cap unless some fairly large forwards are moved. And not, Trouba is not getting traded. That is a pipe dream.

Thank god the league shut down stopped the team from pushing not 1, but 2 players back earlier than expected due to injury

No because not only does Buffalo have a carbon copy of ADA in Dahlin, they also have insane depth at RD (Risto, Montour, Miller, Jokiharju). ADA only makes sense to us, not to Buffalo - who desperately need top-6/top-9 forwards and to a lesser extent LDs.
Buffalo has a plethora of RHD but none of them are as good as TDA. Risto is horible, Montour has been poor since coming to Buffalo, Jokiharju hasn't proven much. It would make plenty of sense.

If you ask me, I wouldn't want to trade TDA as the Rangers regardless.

Assuming the cap is flat next year, they'd probably have to buy out both Hank and Staal to make the numbers work for Eichel.

I would also guess that the window to win with both Zibanejad and Eichel in that scenario would be 2 years. It would be very difficult to make it work long term with all those big salaries, plus adding Zibanejad at 9-10 million a year

Can't wait for his NMC to kick in
Amen, brother.

Y'know, it just occurred to me, but one of the low-key benefits of the Kreider deal is that you get to keep your username – potentially forever.

You didn't place any calls, did you...? Maybe mention a picture you took of Gorts while he was on a scouting trip somewhere away from NY? Perhaps something that would be... embarrassing... if it ever saw the light?

I can neither confirm nor deny

The funny thing is: I was never a huge Kreider fan. I just picked the name as it was a funny pun on a movie title (Amazing Spiderman). I expect Kreider to be a Ranger for life now haha

This is true from Buffalo’s perspective but why would the other team outbid someone else if they would be getting a player who would be not happy? Seems like a pretty large risk

Id agree with this. Unless they could somehow find room for humor some of the young players we think will continue to play better and receive larger co tracts stall. Either way, that’s a legit 2 year window with the possibility of more if the cap goes up or Gorton can find some money for Zib

Chytil lias howden and both firsts? It's a metric ton but then you'd be able to run eichel panarin and zibanejad on 3 different lines... Which would be ideal
Kreider zib buch
Panarin strome kravtsov (eventually)
? Eichel kakko

Hell yeah

Totally unrealistic but fun.

Easy no from Buffalo and we aren't even close to being cap compliant.

A GM could easily see a player like Eichel as being the piece that puts his squad into playoff position if he can nab him with the right deal.
