There's really no good reason why Drury shouldn't be able to get good value for Kreider if he goes that route.

Extremely reasonable cap hit in a cap growth environment. Real $ owed is less than the cap hit.

I think there would be plenty of teams outside the playoffs who are interested in him as well. All depends on the 15 team NTC

Ideally id like to see a deal for Kreider look like this (with 50% retention - Kreider with just a $3.25M cap hit AND less real money owed should get a pretty decent haul)

Young NHL player (e.g. Stank from the Stars), B prospect and a 1st.

If we're not keeping Borgen, maybe we trade him to Dallas along with Kreider for Dumba++.

That saves Dallas some cap next year and the ++ should be pretty good in that scenario.

They're almost definitely keeping Borgen the more I think about it regardless of how much they tank.

This kinda guy is who they would go out and get in FA anyway. They took less magic beans for Kakko to get him.

I dont understand why. I dont even understand why he was called up.

I like him, but he should be in the Ahl honing his game
They like what he did and think he's ready?

It doesn't have to be a cynical sideshow distraction, they could believe in him as a player too.

I think that they think he's got enough of a skill set and toolbox to be molded for success here. Big and mobile, and can be tough when called upon. These trades are usually done for skill sets more than circumstances for subpar performance.

they're not going to give up Bichsel for Kreider

HFNYR: you're crazy, this package with 1 good prospect and 1 decent NHL player is way too much to give up for a 26 year old elite 1C
also HFNYR: we'll probably get a 1st and a teams best prospect for our 33 year old rapidly declining winger

Jones getting scratched. I like the kid but as he's gained ice time he's gotten worse. Its' not a size thing but he has worse pinching instinct than Odell Miller.

Im gonna bet after the freeze he goes for a depth forward and Vesebone gets waived.

Where is he playing? He has Lindell and Harley ahead of him on the left side even if Heiskanen is full time on the right side.

Bischel is absolutely in play for Kreider at 50% off.

So it looks like Borgen will be with Schneider. Who plays the left side?
