TDA is an actual puck moving defenseman that's so bad at defense it's not worth it. but honestly, for a league minimum deal you could do a lot worse...

IMO we're approaching the discussion from the wrong direction. The team needs a top-pair D to play with Fox. It could be a good fit middle-pair D, fine. But if we're talking depth defenseman - that's putting lipstick on a pig.

If he's not in tyurma by now - why not...

I'm not arguing the fact that the team needs a top-pairing guy but if bodies move out, I'd rather have a competent NHL d-man playing that someone like Mackey or Robertson, especially if it costs nothing

This is a bad comparison for so many reasons but I’ll start here:

Jimmy Vesey had 40 points in his freshman and sophomore year combined.

Perreault had 60 in his freshman year. After a year and a half he has 83, more than doubling Vesey’s output through 2 seasons.

Not even comparable.

He isn’t getting traded unless it’s for a legitimate star player with years left on his deal.
Time will tell....one of us will be right .

Vesey won the Hobey as a 22 year old lighting it up in a no-so-great conference. GP had more points in a better conference as an 18 year old freshman
GREAT....I hope he gets lots between now and the deadline ! It will make him even more attractive to the bidders and will get us a great Dman and or RW rental for the Cup run instead of waiting 5-6 yrs for a big contribution from him like what Laf and Kakko brought to us . since they were brought into the league .

Engvall 3 million
Wahlstrom 1 million
Waived
Nelson 5 million if traded
That’s 9 million that Lou could have in cap space in moving Brock Nelson.
Who would he bring in?

I give myself three off-the-wall speculations per season and all of you who do not have me on ignore get to suffer for it.
1st of the season:
Zibanejad to isles for Brock Nelson; adds on both sides.
Mika gets to stay in Manhattan and not uproot his family so maybe he waives(?)
One can dream.👼 @GoAwayPanarin
I don't think Engvall is being claimed, so it wouldn't be 3 million there. It would just be the bury limit.

"Son. What do you think about an extra 30 seconds of ice time? You deserve it."

More like "If you even think about playing like 93 and 20, you're finished. I will make sure you never step foot on the rink again."

What cup run? You're mortgaging our future for a cup run with a team in transition?

I had a dream last night that we traded for John Gibson and he scored a goal in his first start
I had a dream that Mika started taking PEDs. His 1-timer still misses the net but at least we get to see the puck shattering the glass.

Obviously not endorsing this but can you imagine Mika 'roided up?

Buchnevich wasn't good last year and he's been worse this year. Maybe not extending him was addition by subtraction.

He's a good player but not as good now as some people like to make him out to be. He's talented but never quite been a guy who could lead an offense on a good team. He needs to play with good players to be a good player. He doesn't make other players better which is something I think a Panarin can do. Though Panarin tends to fade in the postseason. Buchnevich in his limited number of playoff games though has not put up much production. I think he has 1 goal in 20 games.

I do think Pavel worked hard to make himself a better player and a much better defensive player. He won't lead a team but he could help a team in the right situation to win more as a complimentary player.
