I'd put a claim in for Dermott. His numbers are a little misleading. He was paired with Darnell Nurse for the majority of his time on ice. Anything away from him and he has been okay.

Worst case is he is a cheap depth LHD. With Miller getting hurt and no knowing the severity, you're down to Lindgren/Jones/Vaak. Might even help facilitate a move with Lindgren so you don't have to worry about having enough bodies on the backend.

tbf, it's not just a Nurse thing, he hasn't been great the last few years. Negative Goal, shot, and xGs relative to his team in each of the last 3 years. Only one season with an xG% north of +1.5%

JT Miller doesn't exactly sound like a guy that's thrilled to be returning to the Canucks tonight. Maybe the rumors that he wants out are true.

It will be interesting to see how he plays going forward.

Samuelsson sucks healthy or injured.

he is giant Lindgren.
Fair. Numbers seem good on a bad team though and every time I have seen him I've never thought he was that bad. But I will confess that is very few viewings.

Cozens is good though and we should go for that. If the Wild are in fact dumb and want to trade Rossi, we should do that too. If they trade him they deserve to be the playoff Sabres forever. Make the playoffs, get shit kicked in round 1.

listening to Coach John Goyans break down the Rangers defensive woes going all the way back to the St. Louis game.
He called the team defensive strategy “Hoping and a Poking”.
Talked about the team having no sense of what to do when the puck is in their defensive trapezoid.
Looked up and found that Phil Housley retired in 2002/03 and the NHL Trapezoid Rule didn’t take effect until 2005/06.
This could be the problem.
Starts at the 18:00 mark:

Still havent heard Housley mentioned from any of the beat writers as someone that may potentially be on the hot seat. Not sure why everyone is so silent on this.

NHL network questioning NYR playing man Dfense, saying they should switch to a zone, I have been wondering this for years. We always want big physical d men and crucify them when they can't play a good man to man d. Then we get puck movers and wonder why they can't clear the front of the net. Is this a HC thing or is Housley making this decision?

Laviolette will be occupying Tocchet and Berube's chair on TNT by the time the 4 nations rolls around.

damn, you were in love with the Laviolette hire when it happened. it's only been 16 months, what happened? realized you were wrong again just like you were wrong about Trouba (and most other things)?

Darren Pang reported yesterday that we switched our NZ system and switched to man and was questioning why when our system last year was sucessful.
