Like a moth to a flame, like umbrellas follow rain, or any of the other plentiful co-determinants in the natural world, Kakko is fated to end up on the Carolina Hurricanes where he will become the exact checking *center* that L. Brooks has spent the better part of his career slobbering over. It’s just too on the nose for it not to happen. You’d do yourself good to imagine him hoisting the cup now. The Aztecs have it written on a rock somewhere.

Much more likely hes the next Puljujaarvi

I can't imagine what Lavi is thinking. I understand letting a vet work his way out of slump, but we are way beyond that.

The only thing I can think of is that they are hoping to move Mika and want to keep him on the PP to boost his stats. If we pretend like nothing is wrong with him, maybe other GMs will believe it.

Bold to presume Peter is thinking.

He is?

He loses his balance if you look at him.
Hes good enough in battles but he has a great stick, good vision and positioning. Which he needs because he acceleration sucks as we’ve seen him get burned on that goal a couple days ago. So he tries to stay under the puck a lot

Drury already has established a reputation; might as well own it.
Trade Igor now then sign:

How come?

Because Fox is the second (at-worst third) best defenseman in team history.

Fox is in his 5th full season with the Rangers while Zibanejad is in his 9th, and they rank similarly on all-time lists. Fox has had a similar career in terms of production in half the time.
And by the same metrics Mika is the 3rd best center in team history with 2nd place all locked up if not traded.. I would also argue that both the players and the center position itself carries more weight than players on defence.

@UnSandvich What so funny about this discussion? You have access to other stats then the rest of us? If not, scurry along. Adults are talking.

Zibanejad has never finished as a finalist for any major NHL award. The closest he's come is 5th in Byng voting which is a joke of an award. Besides that it's 15th in Selke voting. He's received 3 whole votes for NHL end-of season all-star. A 3rd in 2019-20, and a 2nd and 1st (over f***ing Connor McDavid, the SINGLE vote that didn't have McDavid as the best C in the league) in 22-23.

Adam Fox finished 4th in Calder voting in his Rookie season. Every other season he's finished in the Top 5 of Norris voting, and of All-Star voting for Dmen.

To suggest Zibanejad is in the same tier of player for the Rangers as Fox is, well that suggestion is so delusional it is well and truly comical.

I mean, I respect that you're still here for Mika, and I do acknowledge that he's a great all-time Ranger even if I haven't always been.

I don't know how to explain to you how Adam Fox is much, much, much better if you don't already see it. It's like asking me why 15 is more than 10.

And yet, he continues his climb towards Mt. Rushmore of Rangers royalty. At some point you have to give respect to his production as a Ranger.

Also, the competition for individual awards for D-men is weaker than for the forwards.

Well I appreciate that you acknowledge him as a great all-time Ranger that he his. On the rest, we just have to agree to disagree.

I will give you this tho, Adam Fox is definetly a better player right now. No discussion.

At least you don't wanna trade Fox like some of these animals.

Drury is doing a disservice to not only himself, the organization and the fans by not doing bi-monthly interviews with the media.
Questions from the press at worst would be a slight annoyance but we’ll thought out questions might provoke an idea or maybe something he an his staff missed.

He has never been and will never be Mt Rushmore level. Hell he won't even be Mt Rushmore 2 level. At F alone he's comfortably behind Messier, Bathgate, Cook, Boucher, Ratelle and Gilbert. Probably also Panarin, Kreider, Hadfield, Vickers and Graves. Then you add D like Leetch, Park (7x top 3 Norris finalist, 6 of those were 2nd place behind Orr), Howell, and Fox. Then goalies like Giacomin, Hank, Richter.

He's nowhere near.

You can keep telling yourself that. He will pass Vickers and Hadfield this very season. Check the stats or are they not fitting into your narrative?

What your emotions are telling you are not the facts.
