how kind and generous of you to call it 'genius'.
Pref we do not issue signings w/nmcs
but if nec
and we are forced
this is a reasonable position to take
Find me one example where it has happened. Sign and trades don't count because the other team is allowed to negotiate the contract.

Reasonable position is a funny way of saying ludicrous non-sensical position.

How would people feel about a Kakko + for Larkin trade
conceptually I could be open to that but don't believe DET has him on the block
ALSO
that would have to be a HUGE +

Pittsburgh acquired it in the Smith trade.
thank you I stand corrected, misread capwages
pls consider changed to our next available 2nd

how much more time do they give Zibs on PP1

everyone and their mother sees how terrible he's been. You're literally handicapping the team by putting him on the ice in big situations. What will it take?

it's as obvious as needing to trade/upgrade Lindgren.... more of the same garbage hoping for different results
I can't imagine what Lavi is thinking. I understand letting a vet work his way out of slump, but we are way beyond that.

The only thing I can think of is that they are hoping to move Mika and want to keep him on the PP to boost his stats. If we pretend like nothing is wrong with him, maybe other GMs will believe it.

Treat him special? He is objectively the third-best defenseman that has ever played for this 100-year-old franchise.

Forget a pedestal, build him a f***ing pyramid.
If Fox gets a pyramid then what about Mika? Are we naming the Garden after him?

After this season Mika will only have Ratelle above him in goals scored by a center. Total points scored by a center sits him at 4th overall right now. 2 more seasons and he will climb to 2nd.

Genuinely curious what people think of his legacy when looking at his career objectively.

I think that with Mika it's more about giving him every opportunity to get going because without him, the team is really going nowhere. We've all seen him go on these streaks where he will put up 30 points in 17 games or whatever.

He's an important player in Rangers history who is very unlikely to be a major contributor in the next window of contention.

Fox will pass Harry Howell and Brad Park this year to move into 4th in points by Rangers defensemen. If he stays with the Rangers for the length of his contract, he'll cruise past everyone but Leetch. He is a more important player in Rangers history.

IMO he's out of shape, soft and mental. there's no magic pill.... well there is but I doubt he takes it

After Park + Leetch, that's prob fair although
Howell gets hon mention and I prefer Zubov

Also there was a physically dominant guy early on, Ching Johnson
so 3rd is a little early

How come? What makes him the more important player in Rangers history? I get that if Mika is moved and Fox some how wins a Cup for us but other than that I fail to see it.

You mention Fox passing Howell and Park this year but remember, Mika is passing Messier this year for 2nd all time behind Ratelle. If Mika puts up another 60 points this season he will pass Greschner and sit as the Rangers 7th best point producer of all time. After that another 80 points to pass Mess. He legit has a shot at top 3 all time.

the only reason I'd move Kreider is to increase our chances of unloading Mika
understood, but refuse to give Mika satisfaction
just sit him out till he waives

I'd open up the coffers for Rantanen and Eichel. Panarin's money will be off the books.
going max $$$ on older works vs depth and energy

every situation is different, based on exact variables, but something to consider

I'm not giving a retirement deal to a guy whose neck is glued together.

I wish this team would actually built something with players who are invested in the organization instead of buying players looking to cash in. But it's not like a few million locked down in a NMC ever handicapped this team.

How come?

Because Fox is the second (at-worst third) best defenseman in team history.

Fox is in his 5th full season with the Rangers while Zibanejad is in his 9th, and they rank similarly on all-time lists. Fox has had a similar career in terms of production in half the time.

When was the last time Mika connected on the PP with his one-timer?
