How about merch? I bet sales are down.

Fingers crossed my Urho Vaakanainen jersey arrives before Christmas

Staple had the knives out specifically for Laf after the Devils series saying he had off ice issues and if I’m remembering it right was the originator of the whole “Lafreniere needs to put away the golf clubs during the summer”thing.

Funny that Staple would say that considering the team he used to cover is infamous for the amount of golf they play on Long Island. But no one cares about the Islanders so its a non issue.

The on goal they scored against NJ on the PP where Kreider tried the between the legs pass across the crease to Mika. Congrat on getting lucky, but why even attempt that. They only scored because it turned into a broken play. Simplify the f***ing game fellas. I bet they were real pleased with themselves during their iPad paddy cake session on the bench though.

He did have a great assist here though

Great job clearing the crease in front. Too bad it was his own man . Hat tip to Lindgren for not even putting up a fight when he started getting pushed from behind. A self respecting team would scratch both guys tonight but Mika will lead the team in ice time insinstead
three things...
1. Smith making that pass into traffic tells you all you need to know about this team. They refuse to play north south even when it's literally the only option. Dump the puck in ffs.

2. Zibanejad for the 2nd game in a row makes a lazy soft pass behind the net.

3. Why is Mika covering Lindgren?

"He sucks" saved you a click

I truly don't think 'he sucks' but he is clearly having a bad season and I'm not sure he is completely healthy at this point. That or he is behind the curve conditioning/strength-wise due to his injury to start the season.

Lindgren has many qualities teams prefer. He's tough, he blocks shots, he backs down from absolutely no one. In fairness to him, he should be making about $2.5m and playing on the bottom pairing and primary PKer. In that role, I could see him doing pretty well on more than a few teams around the league.

Just not in NY where the default is to play him with Fox and hope they can work it out playing 20+ minutes a night.

I love his heart and what he's done for us but I think injuries are piling up and affecting his game. When I played i ended up with a bad sacroliliac joint, it affected my skating, I'd have good days and bad days with it, good days I felt like I was 18 again, the bad days 60. I can only imagine all the issues he's dealing with and it's obvious he's not the same player. Imo if you can move him do it, we cant resign him so get something while you can.

The injury thing doesn’t really hold because he was bad last year too. He’s even worse this year.

He’s been below average to very bad on the PK for most of the last calendar year too.

Shayna slayed him in the kindest way possible but everything she said was spot on.

I don't know anymore. Rangers are not the only team that deals with injuries, conditioning, what have you. Lots of, if not the majority, players across the league have to play with nagging issues. And that so many of us remark that this or that player isn't really bad and would be better playing elsewhere says something about this team.

Does it or does it say something about a pessmistic fanbase that they think we have the most toxic team in the NHL or something.

Byfield is another perimer player with no bite to his game. Want no part of him on broadway. Thats one C the Rangers need to stay far away from. He would get sucked right into being the next heel here in NY.

That's another thing, some of the returns being floated out are like "nah tho."

I would absolutely keep a 23 year old Lafreniere over Tkachuk.

View attachment 942961

Lafreniere is a really good player. His defense is improving and he drives 5v5 offense like crazy. He plays with an edge. He's 23 and has a really good contract. He's a non-starter for me unless it was something stupid like McDavid that would never happen.
YUP. PLUS... Laf has 4 years more than Brady before UFA. This year his cap hit is 6mil less than Brady, next two years about 800K less, then the next four years? Brady prob gets 11 mil at least as a UFA. Laf will be about 4mil less cap hit for those 4 years.

We just need to rid ourselves of the dead weight. Lindgren, Zibanejad and Vesey. Sit Kreider til he's healthy and or trade him with Zibanejad if it changes his mind on his nmc. Anaheim or San Jose wound likely make sense. Unfortunately I'd trade Chytil too, only because he's always a hit away from being out.

He hasnt been completely healthy since the Covid years. And I know you are trying to be diplomatic and nice, but Lindgren gets knocked down by the refs and his own teammates more than he knocks down opposing players. teams leave him wide open in the OZ and double team Fox. It's an existential issue to the Rangers and he needs to go.

Vince and Mollie should ask Laviolette that maybe. Just a thought.

Whoever keeps putting Lindgren next to Fox needs to go too. If it's Fox then that's more country club nonsense. If it's Lavi it's dereliction of duty. If it's the GM then screw him for tampering...
