It sounds like he and the team/staff are not always on the same page about his head.Could be a language thing

so multiple assumptions in your post.
1. Multiple rangers + Lavi last night said “we were sloppy and lucky, need to clean it up”
That implies they understand that the play wasn’t good, so there’s still plenty to work on.
2. Drury didn’t leak the memo. He wasn’t “threatening “ he was likely gauging offers.
3. Where did you hear management was appeased. Because I haven’t.
I heard he talked to Ck and Trouba.
That’s it.
He probably made it clear he’s listening to offers, and their play is the reason.
Neither brodz nor vesey are taking ice time from berard.
Berard should never play on the 4th.
I agree. The part that makes Drury look dumb is that he had absolutely nothing lined up. Same as with the Trouba situation in the summer. You can’t make these big threats (with Larry Brooks pumping you as this *RUTHLESS* mofo) and then not do even a little thing to make it look like you were for real. And if he didn’t have a move to make, then he can’t go full Machiavelli. It just looks like a bluff. Add to that the fact that he never gives a press conference, so fans and the Lady Whistledowns of the Post are happily going to fill in gaps in the narrative. IMO he just made himself less popular among the fans, players, and other GMs in one fell swoop. I mean I guess there’s still time for him to do something but these little bloopers are adding up.
I don’t think he’s great or terrible either. You’re right in saying that his great sin is being middling. The ambivalence is annoying. If you don’t want to rebuild your team then, yes, just call about a specific deal regarding a specific player. The way he went about it made it seem like a “test” for the players, which they FAILED, and then there were no consequences for failing it. If that’s not the way he went about it, or wanted to, he should release a statement, correct the record. The communication is bad, that’s all. It makes it seem like he doesn’t actually have a vision for the team.Drury… Good gravy, the guy can’t win. Waives Goodrow (a good move IMO) in a completely above board, contractually allowable way and he’s “circumventing”, Machiavellian and underhanded. Reportedly sends out an email saying he’s willing to talk about dealing some veteran players and then is weak and bumbling because no deal was there…
Listen, I have no emotional investment in Drury either way, but some of you are f***ing insane. Haha. He’s neither great nor terrible. Neither ruthless nor weak. Maybe his great sin is being middling. I do like his draft philosophy so far.
We currently have 14 forwards and Berard is one of them. He just played over both Smith and Brodzinski. If you remove both Brodz and Vesey from the roster, that leaves us with 12 forwards, so we'd need to bring up at least one other forward to serve as a spare, and then if there are injuries, there would be even more callups.Playing Berard full time
Need new faces
Is not a dramatization. DocumentaryTrue true truuuuue. Larry Whistledown. Bridgerton is actually a dramatization of his childhood.

Making those moves does nothing but hurt our depth.
It's possible. I just don't think it's a necessary move.Yea I said move 1
Fo you think Brodzinski doesn’t clear ?
He always has he’s a bubble nhler I’d rather see him as a call up
Fair 'nuf, and objectively, Brodz righty shot can pivot as well as either W, better speed, reach, etc., is the one to keepWe currently have 14 forwards and Berard is one of them. I think his offense could develop.Edstorm doesn't have to offense to be a 3rd liner, let alone a top 6 player.
Edstrom is barely 24. Gigantic forward who may not even be done growing into his frame. Don’t think we will know if he can score more at this level for another year or two.Edstorm doesn't have to offense to be a 3rd liner, let alone a top 6 player.
Can Adam be a top 6 player? Definetly 3rd line
I think his offense could develop.
He’s got middle 6 upside.
Cuylle was looked at a 3/4th line guy and now he’s looking like a potential top 6 guy, With maybe even climbing into a first line guy on a bad team.

It's really hard to be Edstroms size and not get stripped away from the boards.I think his offense could develop.

I don't know if you are being facetious or not, but this is something I don't think a lot of people understand if you haven't played. Tall guys have a large triangle and it's just naturally more difficult for them to get the puck with their stick in tight to the boards and their skates. Thats why you gotta get good using the feet to dig it out. Smaller guys are actually really hard to battle on the boards with, especially when everyone is at the level NHLers are. Of course, being that tall has advantages pretty much everywhere else on the ice. HahaIt's really hard to be Edstroms size and not get stripped away from the boards.
My "assumptions" are based mostly on the video that RangerBoy shared earlier from Elliot Friedman.so multiple assumptions in your post.
