Isn't a criticism of our forwards that they cheat for offense and fail to backcheck?

And then all of the suggestions are for Zegras and Tkachuk.

Just substanceless vibes.

This team need a vibes move. The vibes have been awful for years despite the on paper success. I also don't understand how people can watch Tkachuk and act like he's not the exact type of personality they need.

I think management is quite concerned about just general engagement. Laviolette has cited it in more than a few press conferences of late.

Every team thinks they can coach up deficiencies.

This team has real things they're bad at, and he's bad at them.

More so Zegras. Zegras just sucks. I'm sorry, Leo.

Because hes cost his teams wins with his antics.
Do you suddenly think if he has less responsibility (no more C) that he’s somehow going to be more even tempered?

Also, the thing with vibes guys is that you're paying for the vibes.

Ottawa will charge a price for Tkachuk akin to MacKinnon, Matthews, his actually elite brother, etc. and he's not that.

Put Tkachuk on a team that's actually capable of winning games and yes. I also dont want him to be tempered. I want a leader who will feed a guy his teeth if he takes liberties with our best players. Where were Trouba and Kreider the other night when guys were sitting on top of Igor and Quick? Snoozing as usual.

I wouldn’t do Zegras for just Kreider let alone add anything
I wouldn't do Zegras for just Adam Edstrom.

Sorry, but you guys are making me get the chart.

Yes but Trouba and Mika are harder to move .

Also we are loaded with wingers and extremely thin on D and at C
irrelevant
Mika + lindy, followed by Trouba, are core source of our probs
giving a good player while retaining drek DOES NOT HELP either now or later.

you can't just "move lindgren" and you definitely can't just "move Miller." you do not have a body to fill that spot. Mancini, again, is not ready.

what are you getting? a middle 6 C? where do they play? troch to wing? chytil to IR?

Kreider can be moved because he can probably return a LHD - allowing you to move Lindgren - and because we can backfill his spot immediately.

disagree
Lindy goes now, just admit bern was right, we should have sold high on him years ago when he had value, and getting cap relief for his carcass -- addition by subtraction -- is worthwhile here. Even if we call up a scrub from the A, at least we got ahead of cap/roster.
And for umpteenth time, Mancini may not be 111% finished product, but he CAN and should play now, growing pains and all

move Kreider for a LHD. move Lindgren and Othmann (and a 1st) for a C.

Kreider for Chabot
Lindgren Othmann 1st for Zegras with a little retention.
shed a little salary
no x 2
Kreider worth more given he is likely to be productive at least another 2-3 yrs if not more and we don't want dubious return Chabot as win now quick fix

listen to bern
build
pref adding foundation pieces
Kreider for Chab = big prob when Chab = useless bust, what ya gonna do?
just stop

as to the other deal
If Leo who is objective here is lukewarm at best on
KAM + Oth +
for
Zegras +,

what makes you think swapping Lindgren for KAM has appeal to ANA?

Zegras was higher pick, mo upside than Oth,
again not real

Id be calling Ottawa every 5 minutes if I had a chance to get Tkachuk from them, but id assume they would want guys from our young core, not our aging vets.
they would not take aging vets and Tka is not a long term answer

STOP WITH WIN NOW BS

You think Drury would have learned about floating trades publicly this past summer. How does this help him make a move?

I do find it interesting that there are quite a few teams out there that seem like theyd welcome a shakeup as well. Teams like Boston and Nashville that had expectations but have cratered. Detroit, Ottawa and Buffalo are looking to change it up to find their secret sauce after decade+ rebuilds. maybe a team like CBJ who is looking to fill a leadership void and has executive level guys like JD and Nash who are familiar with the Rangers.

Kreider came from the era of Rangers that allowed Lundqvist to get abused without reaction, so his behavior (or lack thereof) is not surprising.
