would the Rangers be stupid enough to trade a substantial piece like a 1st or Kravtaov with DeAngelo just to dump him?? this scares me that they would something this stupid
No. They’ll let him rot in Hartford or the press box for 2 seasons or buy him out.

Trading any relatively valuable asset just to dump ADA doesn't strike me as something Gorton would ever do.

No what are you talking about. Not only could you look up his buyout yourself, or read it from the twitter sources, but it has also been posted here multiple times

Have some sense

Did the Trade Desk just report there is suddenly some serious interest in DeAngelo around the league?

Yep, Dreger reported it.

I doubt that it is all of a sudden as in the last hour. More like many talking heads assumed no team would have any interest in him at all. Yet, a crucial thing to consider is that only a mere handful of teams could have even taken him on via waivers for his full cap hit. However, that is not the same thing when it comes to a trade where either the Rangers retain to get a meh asset back or do a contract swap (maybe even a combination of both).

It certainly sounds like Herman's bunk story could have actually been what was holding interest in ADA back.

I'd buy that, for sure.

Of course it was. What Herman did was so damaging. Not to just DeAngelo but dragging Miller into this for no reason just because he was a convenient pawn based on the color of his skin. Herman owes him the biggest apology in the history of apologies.

I have my reservations about Borgstrom who is already 23 years old and really hasnt done anything special at any level since his draft year. I really wouldnt be inclined to give up much for him. It is well documented he has fallen out of favor with Florida for awhile now and they still havent been able to trade him.
around the same age Buch and Zibs put their game together. ADA was in that mix as well.

I highly doubt we're getting a bonafide top6 proven player.

We should be happy the Rangers will get something out of this. If ONE team is interested we should be happy.

Can't the Rangers offer a top 3 or 5 or lotto protected 1st for Dunn? Would default to a 2022 #1 if the Rangers pick was in one of those protective status?

Doesn't mean the Blues would accept but they could offer a #1 with those protections.
I don’t see any reason why parting with a 1st for Dunn makes any sense. Considering what Dunn is. Where this team is. And what they have in the system.

And I like Dunn.

Why would we do that? That pick is probably a better player than Dunn.

No one would take him and his $4.8M AAV for free off waivers. The “sudden” interest is because now the Rangers will have to retain salary to get him out of the organization.
Without looking, tell me how many teams you think could have claimed him off of waivers right now

@Kakko Schmakko was defending his actions that is why I was responding to him. And lmao your right I’m throwing a tantrum. Let’s just sweep this away and never talk about it again... typical.

I am not sure I am defending his actions. I am just doubting the he is as bad as some claim he is. If his action was say something sarcastic, that really isn't that much of an action in my book.

Could also be willingness to take a contract back. Could be that a few teams near the limit would have been interested at full price if they could have moved a body.

If so, give me an underperforming 2nd line center on a one year deal please.
