I'll actually be sad if American Buch is dealt. He's one of the best PK'ers on the team right now, which speaks volumes for a lot of things.

I just don't see a big trade going down. Bennett and a small add for DeAngelo and an AHL contract with the Rangers retaining some salary on DeAngelo is the most likely scenario.

We’ve said countless times that a Ryan + Bennett deal made sense from a cap standpoint from both teams. I’ll be intrigued to see if there anything else on both sides

I don't see it.

I don't see the Rangers in play for a defenseman at this juncture. The emergence of Miller solved a lot of problems, I think. Forward depth is a huge weakness, and if the tea leaves are being read correctly, Bennett and Ryan are good depth. Ryan is UFA after this year and Bennett has team control for a couple of years after this one. Perfect player to play in the middle six that can PK and make the team harder to play against even if he's not lighting the lamp. Ryan PK's as well if I'm not mistaken, as well. Not unlike Blackwell in my limited viewings of him. A little buzzsaw that creates havoc on the forecheck with a nose for the net.

Yeah, it's a small sample size, but if Bitteto and Hajek continue to look competent, that bottom pairing is just fine with Smith subbing in if someone is banged up. Johnson should be demoted to the AHL.
