Yeah, and Crouse is another guy that fits that mold. Probably why the team drafted Cyllulle

likely, yet how does this team defend itself now?

Frederic jump started the Bruins who trailed by 3. We know what Tom Wilson brings and now they have Chara. Luckily, there doesn’t appear to be a force in Philly or Jersey unless i’m mistaken. Would be nice if the Rangers had something besides Lemiuex.

Tell me how any of this excuses choking a teammate?

did he do this? The Miller puck drama turned out to be false.

Regardless, it’s over. Management handed out a contract it couldn’t afford to screw up and they did. Tac on Kredier and Strome the cap is tight. Strome is short term while i’m certain fans will want to keep Buch . . . soon after if Zibby and lol, the best mathematicians will propose Barkov/Eichel without heisitation.

WSH and NYI are the two teams in the division that really have that as a part of their identity. I think the Rangers have a pretty tough backend. You've got quite a few guys who are willing to drop em or throw a big hit. Thought Smith's hit on Tanev was big last night. You slow down their motor, Tanev pretty much ran amok out there the last game, that hit really messed him up for the game the Rangers won.

I don't think the Rangers are lacking as a group, but I'd like to see Gauthier be more of a brawler out there. He's got the physical composition of a Wilson or an Anderson, but does he have it in him mentally? Really doesn't look like it.

Substantive new contracts
2021: Shesty, Chytil, Lindgren
2022: Zibs, Fox, Kakko
2023: Miller, Laf, bridges from 2021

we can take a hit next year as some bad salaries come off and buy outs wind down but you’re right, Buch doesn’t fit and big Krieder/Trouba decisions will need to occur around 23/24, sadly

Thank you - he doesn’t fit unless the Rangers lose others. Quite a few can’t see it. How can it be missed? Especially with a flat cap and who knows how much or little it will increase someday.

I think Buch goes at deadline for a 1st and a B+ prospect. I suspect that we’ll dangle Strome around but maybe the Kraken pay a 3rd to leave him unprotected?

With the defense that will be taking shape by then and that ping pong ball... I think both will be going when those LMNC kick in '24.
My concern will be at C and extending Zib long term. How much and for how long.

If this is the case, what was the point of waiving him? Why not just send him home and get a deal done? I suppose the assumption is that we’ll be retaining and they were hoping to avoid that?

It also means that this can be essentially a minor league transaction. Teams don't need to put him on waivers to evaluate him on their taxi squads.

Annnnnd goodnight jerkoffs. I never want to see this trio of bloggers again

Everyone should be given a second chance and I don’t want to see these kid’s followings destroyed. But it’s remarkable what a poor evaluator of character just must be to believe and all this crap we have seen. That type of behavior would never be accepted in a lockerroom.

I don’t see a big issue at all. As of right now, most of them haven’t done anything to warrant a large pay increase. Say if the following players make huge strides.

Kakko - Trade Buch and his wages can go to Kakko. You still have Kravtsov to think of at RW.

Chytil - If he steps it up, move Strome and use his money.

Fox - Can get ADA’ money

Igor - Lundqvist dead money

Lindgren - Smith’s money

Zibs - probably 4-5m increase from current deal.

Miller/Laf - Money when moving Trouba.

We also have a bunch of dead cap that come off the books.

We are in great shape. We could possibly even keep Buch If you look at the dead money going away.

honestly at this point keeping Buch seems like the no brainer compared to some other guys...right now he's the straw that stirs the drink and is producing points and playing like a guy more valuable than his point totals. Like a Fast but with offensive talent.
How much is the team going to miss that if they let him walk

They’re not trading Buch for futures.
I think it would depend... I agree on picks but I'd be curious about trading him for a top C prospect or a couple of top prospects. For shits and giggles... I doubt LA moves Turcotte but maybe something like Thomas and Fagemo. Last thing we want is to lose Buch for nothing if lose him at all.

Keep an eye on Calgary and Vegas, possibly Florida and Anaheim.
I would love to add Carrier from Vegas and Bennett from Calgary...couple of bottom 6 guys and two fellows that create space and chase pucks down . Gives us some sandpaper without adding a goon of sorts . I would have no problem moving Gauthier -Lemieux-TonyD ...some combination of them or whoever to make money work for both sides to the two teams.....I'm not sure what either would cost . Lemieux is the next target on the fans hit list ...and Quinn's as well . Get something for him while we can .....and he does take a lot of penalties and the officials watch him like crazy.
