Roslovic didn’t have to quarantine when the Columbus trade went down because he was already in Columbus waiting for the Jets to figure out his situation

This won’t happen, but it should.

Posters on this board are divided, I dunno, 80/20 in support of the org vs. Tony. Most of the Tony supporters seem to agree with him politically, and they’ve been clamoring for everyone else here to “STOP POLITICIZING EVERYTHING!”.

Well you know what, it sounds like Tony’s teammates asked him to do exactly that. Go down whatever rabbit hole you want on your own time but leave it at the door when you come to work. He has proven to be incapable of doing that and he’s dealing with the repercussions right now.

I don’t think anyone other than Tony’s biggest detractors have any interest in arguing politics here, but Tony has forced that to be a large part of the conversation surrounding him. Can we all agree that he was wrong to do that and should have just kept a low profile and focused on his job?

yes absolutely correct. Its ok but to talk politics, but if people in the locker room ask you to stop u should stop.

tony didnt. And then went off
The deep end. He was wrong.

They're only trying to move Yandle to trim salary. How does Deangelo for Yandle help them in that?

They're were comments to start the season that Q did not like Yandle and they didn't think he was going to be part of their top-6. Yes it has to do with salary but it also has to do with his playing style versus what the coach wants. Yandle has 3 years left. ADA has 2. ADA's buyout is miniscule comparatively after this season. Also, Yandle has a NMC so his list of acceptable teams may be short.

He hasn't been used at center. He wants to be a center. He can be a 3c for us who's good at faceoffs. He goes off in the playoffs.

I think he can be a solid center for us. He's the type of player we're missing. There's obviously still room for improvement in his game. He's 24.

I'm shocked that he is only 24, feels like he has been in the NHL for 10 years.

And with this, I can now share what I know.

And before we get questions about me coming in "after the fact" I purposefully told a handful of people so that they could confirm when I was able to share (I do this as a safeguard for those who still think I am pulling shit out of my ass):

ADA has been increasingly vocal in the locker room about certain race and social issues and supposedly been making those comments very well known.

He has also not been quiet about some of the changes in this country over the last few months and weeks.

For the most part, there’s an understanding that what you do on your own time is your own business. But ADA has apparently been taking his cues from the more active factions in the world and it is bleeding into the locker room.

This includes going out of his way to make comments that he doesn’t think there’s a big racial problem in the nation, recent events being fake news, etc.

That might not be a huge issue, save for the fact that he’s the one who keeps mentioning. Requests to get him to knock it off have not gone well. The leadership of this team, namely Trouba has taken him aside and told him to leave that stuff at the door and not let it become a distraction.

The other night, he went after Georgiev, got in his face, pinned him to the wall and then tried to choke him. Trouba and Miller stepped into separate them, and then ADA turned on them. Trouba basically bear hugged him and dragged him into the locker room by his jersey. What happened behind closed doors is unknown to me at this time. ADA also told "Miller to go f*** himself" among some other choice comments.

The other night was the final straw with someone who many believe cannot separate the politics and hit button issues from the locker room, views himself as having “made it”, and has really just not done a good job of controlling himself or conducting himself in a proper manner.

Now that it is leading to physical confrontations, the Rangers are basically done with him.

So NOW you know most of what I do.
I for one am floored, flabbergasted, and smeckledorfed.

I'm pretty sure don't choke a teammate/co-worker is pretty high up there as well.

Obviously, but if they follow that rule at the beginning of the season, this doesn't happen. You don't have a situation where the room is fed up with him because he was able to keep himself in check or someone in the room makes it so that doesn't happen. He just kept going on breaking that first rule.

Of course other things could eventually lead to the same outcome, but that topic accelerates things. Especially now, it either unites some, but it will also exclude/anger some. It's just a no win situation when you constantly bring up politics with people you work with, especially when you are a team and have to work together.

Confirmed...some of us were told this last night.
Little late but I can also confirm

how can this kid be real...

I honestly might value him as our #1 prospect and #1 untouchable.

I apologize for the size I'm not good at this stuff but we'll see who gets the reference.

Sounds to me like the Rangers don’t need a Bennett

they need a Brian Boyle father figure type more than anything.
please no.

Getting a young player that has a future with the team is one thing.

Getting Brian Boyle to block a kid for key development time is another. I'd rather do nothing and stick with what we have. His leadership might help though.

f*** Tony honestly. He made his own bed with this shit and now it’s time for him to lie in it. Rangers gave him every chance and then some to succeed. He should be praying to the gods that another nhl team will even take a chance on him.

Yes, he then turned on Miller and Trouba. Now, all of this took place in a span of 30 seconds or less, before they made it into the locker room.

It's the alienating himself part that is doing Tony in.

Now, it's not really a secret that three of the guys in the incident have polar opposite world views from Tony. But the issue has been Tony's constant comments and bringing things.

Literally, an emerging inability to control himself and realize that his teammates are there to play hockey, not debate with him.

And that is a non-racism allegation that is completely reasonable for the team to choose to part ways - the guy is antagonizing others and it came to blows. No need to tolerate that.

This report also seems to be really the first we have concretely heard that he was actually doing this in the locker room, as prior reports were that he was well liked and there was no indication he was pulling his twitter rants around the team.

It's already a shame that people can't control themselves from being assholes on social media. If you are gonna be that way to co-workers and can't control yourself then you really can't stay. I know people like that in real life and I always warn them they need to watch themselves just for what they post on facebook. Obviously termination would be a likely real world result if you treat the office as a second social media account.
