Cam someone ease write a synopsis of what we know and could mods sticky it to the top of the pages of this thread? There is so much info buried in tons of comments. I think it would really help get everyone on the same page

Yeah, there definitely needs to be some stickied thread or post with all of this.

Cool story. Except Elliote Friedman is just a litlte more connected than you or me. Just trying to see if Edge or any other insider here might have heard what he reported on the podcast. Anyway, have a good day....
Edge said it was outside the locker room. This other guy said Georgiev was sitting down. Some things are not matching up

Forgive the ignorance, I don’t watch Calgary much...but hasn’t Bennett been a bust? Glancing at his stats, nothing looks great. What does he bring to the table?

He's an energy 3rd liner. Plays a hard-nosed style, drives hard to the net. He's not going to be a difference maker offensively, but PK and defensive match-ups while bringing energy? Yeah, he has that down.

One way or the other we are going to find out a LOT about this group of players tonight based on how they play. An incident like this takes the team in one of two directions, they will either completely fall apart as a group or this will pull the guys together. There is no halfway on this.

He hasn't been used at center. He wants to be a center. He can be a 3c for us who's good at faceoffs. He goes off in the playoffs.

I think he can be a solid center for us. He's the type of player we're missing. There's obviously still room for improvement in his game. He's 24.

Rangers have been trying to move DeAngelo since last season. Someone got punched. DeAngelo got waived. That's about all we know at this point.

Keep in mind a trade for Bennett requires a 2 week quarantine.
the earlier it gets done,, the better. I think it can be worth it. he is a good player. very young and worth the risk. he'd fit here. his grit could be something useful here. play along the boards has to improve for this team too as much as face-off help is needed.

I could see him meshing well with someone like Howden. Who plays center, maybe they split the duties a bit or maybe that pushes Howden to the wing to simplify his game there a bit.

Help a guy out <3
I've been trying to stay away from all this, so let me know what you want stickied and I'll take care of it.
And with this, I can now share what I know.

And before we get questions about me coming in "after the fact" I purposefully told a handful of people so that they could confirm when I was able to share (I do this as a safeguard for those who still think I am pulling shit out of my ass):

ADA has been increasingly vocal in the locker room about certain race and social issues and supposedly been making those comments very well known.

He has also not been quiet about some of the changes in this country over the last few months and weeks.

For the most part, there’s an understanding that what you do on your own time is your own business. But ADA has apparently been taking his cues from the more active factions in the world and it is bleeding into the locker room.

This includes going out of his way to make comments that he doesn’t think there’s a big racial problem in the nation, recent events being fake news, etc.

That might not be a huge issue, save for the fact that he’s the one who keeps mentioning. Requests to get him to knock it off have not gone well. The leadership of this team, namely Trouba has taken him aside and told him to leave that stuff at the door and not let it become a distraction.

The other night, he went after Georgiev, got in his face, pinned him to the wall and then tried to choke him. Trouba and Miller stepped into separate them, and then ADA turned on them. Trouba basically bear hugged him and dragged him into the locker room by his jersey. What happened behind closed doors is unknown to me at this time. ADA also told "Miller to go f*** himself" among some other choice comments.

The other night was the final straw with someone who many believe cannot separate the politics and hit button issues from the locker room, views himself as having “made it”, and has really just not done a good job of controlling himself or conducting himself in a proper manner.

Now that it is leading to physical confrontations, the Rangers are basically done with him.

So NOW you know most of what I do.

I agree and brings grit which is needed here especially in the top 6. grit matters especially in the playoffs

This won’t happen, but it should.

Posters on this board are divided, I dunno, 80/20 in support of the org vs. Tony. Most of the Tony supporters seem to agree with him politically, and they’ve been clamoring for everyone else here to “STOP POLITICIZING EVERYTHING!”.

Well you know what, it sounds like Tony’s teammates asked him to do exactly that. Go down whatever rabbit hole you want on your own time but leave it at the door when you come to work. He has proven to be incapable of doing that and he’s dealing with the repercussions right now.

I don’t think anyone other than Tony’s biggest detractors have any interest in arguing politics here, but Tony has forced that to be a large part of the conversation surrounding him. Can we all agree that he was wrong to do that and should have just kept a low profile and focused on his job?

Too bad there won't be a game tonight. This may be just the type of event to pull this team together and have everyone pull the same direction.

And the absolute gymnastics performed by some posters. Not a bastion of progressive ideology, the New York Rangers cut bait. That is all I needed to know until details would be leaked.

Instead and predictably, the "all sides" / "stick to sprots" crowd made their appearance during the entire debacle. All for Tony DeAngelo, a man who has done shitty things in the past, has continued to have shitty takes, but "innocent until proven guilty". No "if only the team, coach, or someone else did XXX", only one person messed this up, and his name is Anthony DeAngelo.

Hope Sean Avery can show him where in the river to put his skates.

The Panthers took on Mike Hoffman last year and are begging for someone to take Yandle. Even if they take on ADA and buy him out in the off-season (which is a smaller buy out than Yandle) they may like that option.
They're only trying to move Yandle to trim salary. How does Deangelo for Yandle help them in that?
