And with this, I can now share what I know.

And before we get questions about me coming in "after the fact" I purposefully told a handful of people so that they could confirm when I was able to share (I do this as a safeguard for those who still think I am pulling shit out of my ass):

ADA has been increasingly vocal in the locker room about certain race and social issues and supposedly been making those comments very well know.

He has also not been quiet about some of the changes in this country over the last few months and weeks.

For the most part, there’s an understanding that what you do on your own time is your own business. But ADA has apparently been taking his cues from the more active factions in the world and it is bleeding into the locker room.

This includes going out of his way to make comments that he doesn’t think there’s a big racial problem in the nation, recent events being fake news, etc.

That might not be a huge issue, save for the fact that he’s the one who keeps mentioning. Requests to get him to knock it off have not gone well. The leadership of this team, namely Trouba has taken him aside and told him to leave that stuff at the door and not let it become a distraction.

The other night, he went after Georgiev, got in his face, pinned him to the wall and then tried to choke him. Trouba and Miller stepped into separate them, and then ADA turned on them. Trouba basically bear hugged him and dragged him into the locker room by his jersey. What happened behind closed doors is unknown to me at this time. ADA also told "Miller to go f*** himself" among some other choice comments.

The other night was the final straw with someone who many believe cannot separate the politics and hit button issues from the locker room, views himself as having “made it”, and has really just not done a good job of controlling himself or conducting himself in a proper manner.

Now that it is leading to physical confrontations, the Rangers are basically done with him.

So NOW you know most of what I do.
That dumbass can f*** off. I hope he never plays another game in the NHL.

The puck usually goes to one of the trainers, as soon as you get to the bench.

Where did ADA hide the puck? The trainers and coaching staff didn't say anything when he stuffed it in his jock strap?

IF this is true, which there's a 99.9% its not, it's even more sad that the team, players, staff etc did nothing.
100% that usually happens, but the goal was scored in the last few seconds of the period. It’s plausible that TDA just held onto it on the bench until the buzzer sounded.

idk...seems like a minor detail that might have been misreported whether it was tunnell or room.

but it does make sense to me. It's hard to see him just choke out Georgiev unprovoked or without a minor confrontation before it.
I mean, it's Friedman speaking about the general picture. He might not now every single detail. I wouldn't mind such technicalities as to was Georgiev sitting, did he punch DeAngelo or what. The big picture is what matters.

doe this make sense, or seem feasible, to anyone else?
Ghost hasn't been a regular under AV

I'd rather just make Tony sit and buy him out. Ghost still has 3 years left on his deal, and probably won't be better than 3rd pair for us. We can make better use of that cap space.

Rule #1 of just about any workplace is no politics (of course unless you are working in that realm). It's just not going to end well for anyone. It creates an absolutely toxic work environment. They attempted to get him to just stop and he just was not willing to listen.

Until that changes, he's not going to get another gig in the NHL. I believe if nobody claims him, which from Brooks sounds most likely, and there is no trade route that gets traction, he's going to ask for his contract to be terminated and go overseas. He'll get money from the KHL. I'm not sure that is the best place to rehab your career when talent is not the question, but that is where he will get paid.

I'm pretty sure don't choke a teammate/co-worker is pretty high up there as well.

Thanks @Edge we are lucky to have you.

What a terrible situation honestly.

It upsets me that everyone on the team including and perhaps especially Miller had to endure DeAngelo’s BS.

I also will say, perhaps controversially but I hope not, that I hope DeAngelo gets some help. He clearly went down some dark alleys of the mind. And no that is not intended as a directly political comment...there are similarities with addiction in the damage it done by bleeding uncontrollably into his life.

It's sad that this MAY cause controversy but I 110% agree

Edge did say that up until this year he had been capable of keeping the two separate.
Which was probably what we hoped for when we gave him that 2 year deal.
It really sounds like a certain someone losing an election made Tony go off the deep end. From that point on was the time it seems that he wasn't able to separate the two worlds.

I saw something similar happen with an old coworker. She was a very nice person, but usually pretty reserved and quiet, but not in a standoffish way. Was polite enough when we needed to work together but our interactions really didn't go beyond what was necessary.

All of a sudden one day she comes in and is ranting and raving almost nonstop about something her sister in law said or did. It was absolutely consuming her to the point that you couldn't even have a conversation about work and the job at hand that needed to be done. I reported her to her superior, but not in a mean way, just as a means of a way to say "Hey, I'm really worried about xxxxx, she's doing this and this and isn't being a productive member of the team". After that day, she was out for a few months. Didn't get the details on what happened exactly but I just presumed that she had some kind of psychotic break and went and got treatment somewhere.

I imagine something similar happened with Tony where he was able to keep it out of the room before and could not anymore as of late because of the traumatic event of that certain someone losing an election. If ranting and raving about the locker room and looking to debate his teammates was all he did, I would have been on board with someone approaching him to say "you need help, take some time off and you can go get it taken care of on our dime". Now that he tried to put his hands on and choke out his teammate, no matter how bad he was that particular night, and then threatened to put his hands on a respected member of the team in Trouba and a young defenseman that already is an integral part of the team , he lost all benefit of the doubt.

He's done as a Ranger and as a member of the organization. He may even be done in the NHL. Once more of the details start coming out, no team is going to want the headache. The KHL, Switzerland, and German leagues are the only hockey options left for him at this juncture. I don't see any Scandinavian teams putting up with it, either.

Tony needs help. Whatever his political beliefs are, he let his emotions get the best of him. And it led to trying to choke a teammate. That is just too much. That’s crossing a line. Physical altercations happen, some shoving, but what he did is inexcusable. He is wasting his talent because of his beliefs. He could not check those at the door.

Our own guy here ways it was outside the locker room. And why decide it HAD to be Georgiev who hit first? Whose the known hot head? Certainly not Georgiev. I'm not saying there wasn't back and forth and maybe even some push and shove but the rush to defend Tony is kind of funny.

Miller and Trouba

exactly.

again i can't just see him choking out georgiev unprovoked. I bet he said something like 'make a f***ing save' or something and Georgiev went after him or got in his face.

yeah, that was the concern I saw, was that 3rd year, if that wasn't ok for Fast...

I wonder if ADA had the gloves on our off when he choked Georgy. Theres a difference.

Cant believe we are even talking about this

Who gives a F!

Basic rules of conduct
Strong words from someone equal strong words back at that someone
Strong words from someone can not result in a physical response back at someone
These are the basic rules of conduct in any dispute conflict.

im definitely not defending him. i'm just trying to put the puzzle together and understand exactly what happened.

it was reported that Georgiev and ADA didn't get along going back to Hartford.

if tony said something about his goaltending i could definitley see AG getting in his face and then it escalating into what was reported by Edge.

I'd look to get a center.

I dont know what ADA's value is at this point but 50% retained for Bennet? We really need centers and he's also a big game performer
Forgive the ignorance, I don’t watch Calgary much...but hasn’t Bennett been a bust? Glancing at his stats, nothing looks great. What does he bring to the table?

exactly.

Total speculation. How about this one, Georgiev says, "What about the other 3 goals you did shit to prevent," and Tony went after him. See it's fun to make up scenarios to meet your desired result

Cam someone please write a synopsis of what we know and could mods sticky it to the top of the pages of this thread? There is so much info buried in tons of comments. I think it would really help get everyone on the same page

Cool story. Except Elliote Friedman is just a litlte more connected than you or me. Just trying to see if Edge or any other insider here might have heard what he reported on the podcast. Anyway, have a good day....

OK, but it seems you're determined to make it about someone else starting it. We may or may not ever learn the specifics. Even our guy here says he has no idea if Georgiev did or did not throw a punch first, last or otherwise.
