I don't know if this has been posted or not; it more or less says the Rangers have enable DeAngelo for a long time and now it's come back to bite them.

This is a bad and misleading tweet. First off, anything related to COVID/Election is recent and has nothing to do with his first three years. Second his "history of racist comments" stems from a suspension in Junior 7 years ago. He has never been disciplined in the AHL/NHL for that. Whose to say he didn't change how he speaks after that? Speculate all you want but he hasn't said anything on the ice or in the media that was deemed worth of a suspension. You don't get permanently blacklisted because of things you said as a teenager.

Have followed him on Twitter until recently. He has always been one of my favorites but oh my does he push some batshit crazy stories.
Oh yeah.. He was always a bit of a headcase..
Statistically he was still good but he took really really dumb penalties.... and off the ice he was hitting the bottle and the nose candy really heavy in his last season here. NYR did a good job keeping it under wraps but if it had happened in 2021 it would have been a huge scandal. No way it would have had the lid on it.

Exciting player, but he certainly had his demons...

Also the Boogaard situation was a horrible shit show and that was 1000000% on the Rangers organization. possibly one of the biggest scandals in the history of hockey from an organizational stand point that was swept under the rug.

This whole thread is 100% true and on point. The Rangers org should have never enabled such a divisive and openly toxic individual. It makes me sad that K’Andre ever had to share a locker room with him.

this is insanity and clown world.

We went from ADA getting into a altercation with his goalie. To he was holding down KAM and stole his puck... to now the Org.... 2nd to last to acknowledge George Floyd??

WTF AM I READING

I don't want to get too far into the "enabling" thing, but it is true that in such an increasingly politicized and polarized society, clubhouses/locker rooms aren't immune to these things. Miller is a very conscientious kid who cares about the world around him, so I could understand if some of the guys on the other side who are very outspoken rub him the wrong way, and he wouldn't be able to form a bond with them.

(This of course can happen in reverse--i.e. someone like DeAngelo not being able to bond with an outspoken teammate on the other side; I'm just talking about it from Miller's perspective since that's what we're really discussing.)

Why don't we all just calm down and wait for @Edge to give us the story.

Look, I have to be very careful with this one for a while because it’s an ongoing situation and it isn’t over yet.

To be clear, this isn’t multiple years worth of issues building up. The consistent story I am getting is that recent events, be it in the world or closer to home, coupled with ADA not being willing to cooperate or not understand the need to cooperate, has made this a situation that has deteriorated very quickly over the last 6 weeks or so.

He’s getting backlisted for what he’s done with these past couple of months. But his checkered past doesn’t help the situation. He already didn’t have a leg to stand on.

Any chance they have a trade lined up for after he clears waivers.

its more than slightly misleading. Theres legimately false information in it. The rangers made it very clear that DeAngelo's podcast was his own thing and in no way affiliated with them. He is allowed to voice his opinions and while I never listened to it, I never got the sense he crossed a line on it.
The rangers didnt give him a forum, they gave him a paycheck.
The rangers never promoted his podcast in any way shape or form. Thats bad journalism.

The org is problematic and it’s from the top down starting with Dolan. It’s absolutely shameful to be the 2nd to last team to comment on the killing of George Floyd and to never have the guts to say his name. If you disagree... I don’t know how to respond to that.
You should stop watching them then. You're only enabling them by watching them. How do you even tell people you watch the Rangers with this deplorable behavior they have enabled?

That is some serious allegations by that TSN reporter.

He better have some material and sources on this.

I’ve said it before, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to root for the Rangers now that ADA is off the team. It’s common to root for a team and also be perpetually disappointed in the owner, ask any Knicks fan.

I don't recall Tony ever denying COVID. Wasn't he involved in the delivery of many meals to health care workers? Didn't he tweet many posts with messages like "stay safe" during the pandemic? His criticism has always been that the mainstream media is weaponizing COVID in a political fashion to the detriment of Trump and that the media attempts to create fear and panic. Didn't Tony defend K'andre when he was bombarded with the N word on Zoom? People took his suspension from junior and played it up to be racism without facts. People play up his support of Trump to be supporting an insurrection and his attitude toward the media's handling of COVID to be COVID denying. This is just madness.
