I went to Rutgers - yes like most colleges the views espoused by the teaching faculty were mostly liberal; however I had my share of conservative leaning profs as well (as a political science major, imagine that!)

One thing that should be known about the school - and I’m sure others are like it - the first class we all took that was required to graduate was called Expository Writing, the basic premise being you are to question the source of what you are reading, and then take a position on either side of the argument. Rutgers students at the time were groomed to doubt what was being sold to them. If they paid attention, which is a whole different topic, haha.
I remember all that mess. I was the only one in my class who disagreed with the quote and I got an A. That was the beginning, really.

I heard Henrik kept the Jiffy peanut butter away from Cam Talbot and was heard on multiple occasions telling Talbot the team only buys Great Value peanut butter
Oh come on. The peanut butter ban was clearly in place since the Tom Poti days and its just so typical of nut lobby to spin it this way. Henrik was expressing his 26th Ammendment right to confiscate emulsified nuts.

While that’s a calm and logical answer, it implies that none of the other 30 teams went through anything similar. We are certainly having a circus-esque start.
We are the youngest team in the NHL by a lot, and 2 of our highest scoring players were identified in my reasoning, so I don't think the other teams had it much the same to be honest

My fiancé just said “remember when the Rangers were strong enough that rookie Shesterkin was trying to shoot on empty nets?” And I thought to myself... damn, I do remember that. The she said “what happened?” And I thought, idk, we subtracted Fast and Staal and added Lafreniere and Johnson?
And then I thought WTF?

Only explanation is that Lafreniere is a locker room cancer.

As someone who is in association with Pro NFL players literally everyday i can say that this isn't just a joke. Shit like this happens more often than not but it is usually kept under the rug so to speak. You should hear some of the stupid petty shit that goes on in these locker rooms. Tons of egotistical maniacs doing the most random and head scratching things.
I believe that, but won’t believe the entire team allowed Tony to keep Miller’s puck. Where did Tony put the puck? In his front pocket? That puck gets handed to someone behind the bench immediately.

Was it an inside job maybe? Did Tony’s family pull an Ocean’s 11 heist and jack that puck from the locker room?

You think Quinn would allow Tony of all people to pull this shit?

Cmon man. You’re better than this.

Adam Herman--I do not follow him on Twitter because too many of his posts are just about politics or whatever and not hockey. Which, it's his Twitter, that's fine, just not what I'm interested in (I actually am, but not from him).

That said, I know he takes his site really seriously. I have never known him or anyone on that site to simply make something up. If he's confident enough to post that multiple sources told him that, then multiple people told him that. Are they legitimate? I don't know. Again, though, he wouldn't concoct that on his own, even with his general disdain for DeAngelo.

I could see him not really getting the whole story--like it was a joke that went too far; we all know guys who act like that and DeAngelo seems like he fits the mold (me projecting, based on what I've read and heard that's verified). Or, maybe it didn't happen, and multiple people are lying to him. But, I really doubt it's something he decided to pull out of thin air.

Just my opinion.

Maybe you can show me where I’ve been painting him as the victim.

Defending ADA in any capacity at this point is revolting. Clearly you think he has been wronged here? Otherwise what is your reasoning for defending this person? He’s confirmed to have thrown around homophobic slurs, possibly racist slurs, and abused officials. He has harassed teammates and fans in the past and has repeatedly shown an inability to separate his personal life and professional life. He is now rumored to have harassed a Black rookie and started an altercation with his goalie. What possible reasons could you have for defending him at this point? Multiple people here are saying that he’s a victim of libel from BSB and others. It’s absurd to think that’s more likely than ADA actually doing the things that he is rumored to have done.

Maybe I missed it but I don't see anybody in this thread saying unequivocally that it happened, just that it could have or they wouldn't be surprised.
Many are acting as if it did, and take a look at reddit/twitter. They are 100x worse than HF. There are people who genuinely wish death upon the dude, these people are not stable and are beyond reason.

Right, I think the question is whether or not this was good-natured taking the ol' piss from the rookie that Herman is making into something malicious, or whether it was actually malicious. We'll have to wait for more details and maybe they won't ever come.

That Herman just imagined this in some kind of enraged fever dream, I just don't buy.

The puck thing (if accurate, I have a level of skepticism w/Herman) would be an at best gratingly tone deaf, at worst unacceptably malicious move.

Getting the puck for the rook has been a tradition since forever. If he actually kept that from Miller it is pretty unacceptable. I could see any drama w Miller just as easily coming from a place of insecurity & being pissed off at losing the LD spot next to Trouba than anything more nefarious. But at minimum beyond childish and bad for the locker room.

I hacked Tony’s phone. It’s true. He even sent Miller this text.

Agreed. If there is an issue btw Key and TDA, which I don't rule out, I have a hard time believing this puck story.

Not really, when the perpetrator has a history of being a huge dick.

If it smells like shit, it usually is.

Probably not an issue between K and ADA. Likely just an issue with ADA. Just one of the reasons he was waived

IF the puck thing is true... and I wouldn’t put it by him to do such a thing... it’s not just juvenile it’s extremely dumb or... calculated.

whatever the case. Good riddance
