Is too early to give up start of the season in game 6.

Yes, as depressing as the figures are to look at right now, it hasn’t been long enough to rule out that this just happens to be a cold streak to kick off the year.

Didn’t the rangers start a recent season like 7-1 and then tank at the deadline? Streaks happen

The veterans (lack of) performance is killing this team right now. While I love Fox and believe that long term he is the #1 PP guy, right now I’d put Tony back on the top power play. Panarin, Mika and Tony all had great success working together on the power play. Tony’s not giving the team anything right now. Reunite last years power play and see if that sparks the group.

Why in the hell is Zibanejad not in Panarin's spot on the PP??? Dude has a bomb there, correct me if Im wrong but didnt he have a ton of success setting up in Ovi's office. Put him in a spot to unleash that one timer. I think Panarin is more dangerous down low anyway. It just doesnt make any sense to me, everything is just done ass backwards

who else is gonna play C? They already need to take Strome off PP1

I know Fox is in his sophmore year which feels crazy considering how stable he has been from the day one. Mark my words, him or Laf is going to be the next captain of this team.

Right now Kreider is the last remaining player from the 14 cup finals and man it shows, he deff is a smart guy and prolly has a big role in the locker room but with that responsibility you can’t just go missing for a long period of time(s). Now what has Trouba ever done to deserve the A? He deff wasn’t leading anything in Winnipeg.
Panarin on the other hand, I get that you want to give the A to a hart trophy contender, a real superstar, but he can’t even speak english during interviews. Mika is one hell of a player but man his personality screams everything else but leadership.

Well it's a game of centimeters and split seconds. Even in the more low even games, the other team made the Rangers pay for their mistakes, while the Rangers didn't capitalize. Think the guys need to play within themselves and not try to pull off some of the things that Bread or Fox can pull off. I also think that the guys need to learn to use each other more effectively to maintain puck possession. While you have a couple of bright spots, you want to see a cohesive 60 minute game. Kreider had a home plate zinger. Need more from the top line. Buchie needs to be a shooter. Come on dude, you'll make way more dollars bud.

A good way for Lafreniere to break out of the slump is just beat a guy and take a shot. There is a clear adjustment from juniors, they played a different way in the Q, and I think Alexis is gifted enough to read the play here in the show. Even if it means F3 duties on the 4th line, I think it can help make the game easier to go in with the mindset of reading the ice and what's about happen, and just solely that before every shift and letting nature take its course.

K'Andre continues to impress. Think he and Trouba need to communicate a bit, or find a way to gesticulate who has got what.

All in all, there is a sense of trying to score the easy goal where the legs aren't moving, and teams are taking away the pass. They are blocking the shot. Chances are going the other way. Gotta fix that imo.

PK isn't great, hate to say it, but penalties and a bad pk can turn this into a pretty short season. The goalies have been scouted pretty hard. BUF looks good. Happy to see that for the market, and for Eich. Cozens is already adding to that team.

The PIT games were a matter of more guys coming to play imo, and a veteran team knowing how to win a game. Sid schooled some efficiency & leadership out there, across his whole team. Came in, did their job, and made it look easy.

Zone entries aren't great either. Not every situation is going to result in a guy getting in with the puck on his stick.

Great summary. It feels like they are too fickle. When things are going well, they build momentum and just keep doing the little things correctly. But when it's bad, they don't have that line or player that can get them back on the rails. They don't stick to the plan. Everyone is on a different page because, IMO, they are all want to do something different to change the game.

They're also getting stopped left and right on the perimeter at the offensive blueline a lot. There aren't enough drivers right now.

it’s what I do !
I know we are all bummed out but w all the losses they really should of won a few of those

this is a rebuild. I honestly am not shocked and think they will bounce back but they are gonna need a few years for kids to learn

Not so sure it's the losses as much as with the way and ease they are losing.

Tony needs a spark just as much as Zibanejad, Kreider and Panarin - so sure

I know the hate I will get for this but I might be the only one who thinks that Adam Fox is good, but not as great as people make him out to be just yet. Yes he does make some good plays with the puck but he does make a good amount of bone headed plays like fanning on passes and hanging on to the puck for too long. Kind of reminds me of a D version of Kevin Hayes in that regard. He is still our best overall RD at the moment but I’d take Miller over him right now.

You are exactly right.

You are probably the only person that feels that way.

Fox is the best player on the team right now, i don't know what you are watching.

Watch the Rangers make a panic trade for Barkov.

They need center ice depth badly but center ice depth that is actually NHL level depth.

I wouldn't want such a move just because it would be closing the door on Eichel and I'm not ready to do that yet.

I'm not even convinced that Quinn needs to go, but he needs a directive from the front office to stop playing JJ and to change his system to feature getting the kids into roles where they can excel. If that means more losses, then fine.

I don't care if we lose 6-5 every game. I want to see Kakko and Lafreniere getting the green light to use their skills.

If after 20 games we can get them some traction, then we can go back to putting a collar on them to try to teach them structure and system discipline. But we need to see these kids flash some skill and I highly suspect Quinn is drilling it out of them in favor of "defense first," or "system first," or something like that. Which is why Kakko and Lafreniere look so uncertain. They aren't just "doing what they can do," - they are second guessing what Quinn is asking of them.

Just my guess. Could be wrong.

I'll be honest with you, Fox is doing things all over the ice (offense, defense, reading plays, saving plays, etc.) that I haven't seen since Brian Leetch.

Literally he's doing everything out there, in every situation.
