but I like the idea of Howden getting 3C time right now to see what we have. If this is a development year this is what we need to know

ideally Chytil and Howden are 2 and 3 next year if they show they’re up to it.

you know what else I’d do. I’d put kakko with Mika. I’ve always liked their shifts together.

keep the strome line together right now. Was probably their best game Sunday night.

then go Laf Howden DiGi as your third line.

Howden has played well so far this season. This is a good opportunity for him to grab more ice time. If he can push the envelope that's only good news

Good time to find out what he can and cannot do. It's his third year in the league. If the top-2 lines were playing like they are capable of, Howden on the third line would need only to play the role of a 3rd line center and not recreate Chytil.

This may be true, to a point, although slapping a C on a jersey could elevate player performance. Remains to be seen with this team. The question is, are the Rangers so devoid of leadership that they couldn't find a Captain on the squad if it were to be mandated? I worry this could be the case. This team needs someone wearing a sweater to force a win by sheer will and determination. Letting the games slip these past two weeks is a bad habit that needs to be broken.

Yep, this is really bugging me. And talk about an ideal player to play RW with Panarin and Strome. Big body, doesn't need the puck on his stick all the time to make offense, has speed and can win board battles.
