Quinn plays Georgiev and we lose - "why didn't he play Igor?"

Quinn plays Igor and we lose - "why didn't he play Georgiev, he has a better track record"

Reality - if they want to beat the islanders, they need to play a smart north south game and as long as our goalie isnt swiss cheese, whoever is in our net may not be the reason we win or lose.

A coach should never be questioned about playing his #1 goalie who is finally settling into a groove.

He should be questioned for playing his inferior back up just because of a "track record." Those track records really don't mean shit right now and one of our guys has clearly outplayed the other (as was expected.)

I mean I guess we could play dumb and ignore the context of the situation of when Stepan was traded vs now and why we would consider bringing him back today...and then try and parlay that into it meaning we will of course want DeAngelo back in a few years. I guess that makes sense.

Bottom line is Stepan is an expiring contract, with positive corsi metrics on the worst team in the NHL, and is 50% on the dot.
Stepan would be a good pickup for a lot of reasons (starting with leadership) but fitting the cap hit in, not the money, would be the biggest issue. He could help a lot of ways.

Stepan is not divorced. (Mrs. Stepan is a keeper) His family is in Arizona. They had a baby recently and chose not to move to Ottawa. The deal went down right at Christmas and a move means a mandatory 14 day quarantine..

Man this shit felt like it was yesterday.

I could have sworn that the first report was that it was his sister (since she looks JUST like the mom), but then when it came out that it was his gf, there were a bunch of Oedipus jokes!

I could be remembering it wrong.

Said it before, but trading Tony is an all or nothing proposition. His buyout is so small that we’re not going to take on a bad contract to get rid of him. So either we get something decent (the Bennett deal or something similar) or nothing at all and we buy him out. There is no middle ground where we take back garbage to facilitate a move.
