I get it, I’m just not interested. And if they acquire him, is he gonna play 4C when Chytil comes back in a few weeks? Or they moving Chytil to the wing which dosen’t help him develop into a center?

The money dosen’t work either, Ottawa would have to retain to make things equal. And I imagine the team ideally would like to get something that could benefit the team past this season for Tony (whether or not they do is up in the air)

Stepan was a good solider but I’m just not interested these days
Listen, these are fair concerns and youre also entitled to not being interested. I get it.

For me, I’d prefer to have Chytil bumped up to 2C. But if not, then yes I would have Chytil at 3C and Stepan 4C.

I would also make this deal exclusive of what happens with DeAngelo. I would have Ottawa retain. There are some hurdles for Ottawa here. With a shortened season, its getting late early.

I would slide Howden to wing with Stepan moving to 4C. Howden has improved this season and having Stepan to learn from would be good for his development. In the scenario of Chytil moving up to 2C, I would move Strome down to 3RW, keeping Kakko on line 2.

Zero interest in Stepan. He’s Steven Seagal levels of washed up. You thought he was slow when he was with us, he’s even slower now. And to put it bluntly, he’s a giant p***y, soft as a baby’s ass. The Rangers want to be a fast aggressive team that’s hard to play against, Stepan checks none of those boxes.

He checks other boxes. He checks defensive responsibility, faceoffs, PKing. He is driving positive possession on a piss poor Ottawa team. Cant be that washed up...

Few more logs to throw on the fire this Sunday morning:

1. Burke interview was interesting. Just finished his book actually (highly recommend) and he and Brisson have a familiarity. So my first thought was this was Burke doing Brisson a favor, using one of the largest platforms in hockey (HNIC intermission) to go to bat a little bit for one of Brisson’s clients.

But did find it at least a little “interesting” that they aired that segment during the Flames game. If this was a PR move aimed at Flames fans that would be the place to do it. Rather than the broad sales pitch to the league as it was presented.

2. Fun fact that probably means nothing...somehow it completely escaped me until now, but DeAngelo and Johnny Gaudreau played for the same youth hockey program in south Jersey (Hollydell).

Here’s an older article with both of them in it. According to Facebook (won’t link here but easily google-able) looks like they both still volunteer with the program.

Not that Gaudreau hasn’t been a part of some rumors himself. But if they were looking for someone to vouch for DeAngelo’s personality or what it’s like to be his teammate...Gaudreau could have some insight for management.

South Jersey: Where hockey grows

This team needs to re-evaluate Brett Howden. I am not like most people where I ridicule him like crazy but they certainly can do better. He doesn't handle the puck well, fumbles most chances, isn't fast, weak on the boards, etc. How is Lafreniere going to do anything with him? Centers drive play, and to be asking a 19 year old who hasn't played competitively since last March (aside from these ten games) to drive a line himself is a joke. He is going to probably put up a poor statline this year but whatever. They need a C badly.
Your preaching to the choir here. Been saying this even last year with KK. Its all about the development of our top draft choices but playing them with third rate centers Pejorative Slurs their growth. Plain and simple.

People are pointing to Bennett's "promotion to the first line" last night as proof that he's now happy and unlikely to be traded.

9 CGY forwards logged more ice time than him last night. LOL

Oh he’s a goner but maybe not too NYR

this is on Tony. He’s gonna have to sell himself to some teams

Who should we be playing on PP2 over Strome and Lemieux? howden, rooney, pdg, gauthier?
People will say Gauthier despite him not being remotely a playmaker to replace Strome or a net front presence to displace Lemieux. I could see Rooney sitting in front of the net because he'll do what he's told because he's not that talented and likes NHL salary but other than that there isn't really anyone else.

I could see Gauthier being a goal line guy or a slot guy on a points oriented PP but nothing else at the moment.

random but i was wondering, if we had to make a trade with ourselves involving Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Kravtsov, Miller and Lundkvist, what's the most balanced proposal that's equal on both sides if it had to be three players for the other three players?

Laf, Chytil and Lundkvist

for

Kakko, Kravtsov and Miller

?

The KHL season is over in three weeks. Not sure if Rykov's or Kravtsov's teams are poised to make their playoffs.
