I just dont recall the racially abusing articles from the incident in Juniors. I thought he called a teammate a different, equally charged, term to get suspended. Of course not that its any better, but right now with the way things are in this country, you better have evidence if you are going to label or accuse someone of something of that nature.

The other crap Dom mentions are by no way reasons to not get another chance. Thats just being flat out stupid.

If this rhetoric of ADA being a racist neo-Nazi continues without proof, and ADA cannot find a team after he is released, there is a chance that he will have enough for a collusion lawsuit against the NHL akin to the one that Kaepernick brought against the NFL. It's probably something that's already being discussed by his agent.
It would be quite the case of irony.

I spent a little bit of time trying to find specifics about what slur he used in juniors and against whom. I could not.

Again, I don't care a whole lot about how specifically he was bigoted, but it bothers me that so many are claiming as fact that he was bigoted a specific way when there are no public reports about those specifics.

I really really doubt any of that.

Dom is a little shit can't stand him and f*** his graphs too

out of all of this we need to remember not to believe Dreger . He is known for pushing agents needs and in this case it was likely the agent pushing his agenda saying a trade was close
Agreed, but to be fair our own vetted sources on this board said something similar.

Listen when you have the opportunity to trade one of your more liked players in recent history for a lightning rod who’s been run out of 3 different NHL teams and will 100% upset your fanbase, ya just gotta run out and do it

Burke knows what he’s doing, he’s trying to soften Tony’s image incase the trade goes down.

Calgary will play this one slow

well if Ryan is out say 2 months he may not have to be in a deal since they are saving space

Not sure why Ryan was a healthy scratch for CGY earlier in the year, but imo he would be a good trade acquisition that can plug some holes for the Rangers. If it doesn't work out, then you are clear of any cap hit next year, unless they retain on DeAngelo. I would much rather take Ryan than Bennett in a deal with CGY.

Good PK, good on draws, RH shot, can play wing. Rangers lost a couple of games due to late goals off of face-off plays from their RH centers not winning that d-zone draw. Teams know the flaws... you saw what Aho did, and early this year you had a couple as well, including the Crosby win that lead to the Pens coming back in OT.

I can't say I know the validity of the rumors around the teams being involved, but Burke nailed it with a single line. Tony has no filter, nor awareness, and just says what comes to mind. It grates on you after a while, and if you don't have a more experienced locker room that gets that, then he's harder to fit in to the organization.

They aren't saving any cap space while using LTIR cap space.

The accruable cap space limit is the teams new upper limit excluding their LTIR relief pools. If the team operates below the ACSL, they begin to accrue cap space. A team can operate up to the ACSL without using their LTIR relief pools, once they operate above the ACSL, they begin to use their LTIR relief pools. In the majority of cases, a team using LTIR will be using their relief pools. Only in uncommon circumstances does a team operate below their ACSL.

Calgary's ACSL is $81,217,830. They are currently at $82,348,002. They can go up to $84,342,830 (ACSL + Ryan's 3.125 mil cap hit), but they aren't accruing any cap space right now. When Ryan comes off LTIR, all of that LTIR space goes away and their cap is once again 81.5 mil.

I think Burkie's been around long enough where he isn't entrenched in the clickbait tactics for inciting controversy by grasping onto an immature act and trying to milk a reaction by trying to push language to an extreme.

He gave a very truthful statement about Tony. He's a reactive guy with no filter, and one that doesn't that doesn't seem to understand the potential reaction, or the consequences of his statements and actions. Kid just got kicked off an NHL team because of it.

The same could be said about Burke.

Bring him home

Would be kinda funny if it’s Stepan , Anisimov with some retention for Tony D

both expiring contracts Atleast. I’m skeptical NYR could do better

could throw Smith back at them too and expand a deal with say Coburn coming back for cap reasons

Stepan is cooked no interest in him

Gorton got out of that deal at the exact right time
That deal doesnt matter. Has no bearing on the decision at this present time. His contract is expiring.

And also “cooked” is quite the exaggeration. He is a positive possession player on that dumpster fire in Ottawa. He is 50% on the faceoff dot. And he would absolutely provide leadership in the room.

He goes against everything the team is “trying” to do style of play wise

And generally once the team gets rid of you, very rarely do they bring guys back for a second go around

Can’t see them having much interest but maybe I’m wrong
