Just saying I’ve never seen anyone get punished a game plus for banging the penalty box door hard and getting an extra minor especially when game is as already way out of reach.
Here is basically a 20 year old mouthing off to the ref but ADA deserved a game plus for what he did? I guess I’m missing something
Well put. Lemieux took his ice time and made himself noticeable. Since he arrived on the scene, Gauthier has been sort of cubic zirconia. Great to look at, until you examine it closely. When given more ice time, he continues to be no better or worse than he is when given less ice time.
Rooney was and is exactly the way you describe.
You ever watch Scotty Bowman coach? Or Keenan?
Clearly the coaching staff seems to think so. And clearly they have the backing of management.
Quinn communicated to DeAngelo what is and what is not acceptable. That DeAngelo chose to cross the line is entirely on him.

I just don’t see how “that’s what he had coming to him” is valid. I can see letting him sit rest of game but another game? I just hope he’s gonna he fair and balanced with everyone else.
I’m not gonna even get into the fact ADA wasn’t even close to our worst player that game.

A whole 12 minutes for Kakko, wow, even less than last year. Only players getting less ice time are Lemmy an AHLer and Gauthier with a whopping 8 minutes, great way to develop him. Kakko was the best player in the 1st period last game, barely got rewarded for it, but the second he makes a mistake Quinn makes sure he knows about it by sitting him for 10 minutes.
Surprised no one put in a claim on Julius Honka. Basically the NYR could've had him for nothing and still didn't want him.

What is PLD really worth? Not in a vacuum but with current circumstances.
Would CLB want a 'swap' or a voluminous return? Right now Kakko for PLD is starting to make sense.... but its only 3 games and a megaton of over reactions since we've had no hockey for what feels like an eternity.

Gauthier is a promising talent but its just more of the same. We have a lot of offensive talent. It desperately needs to be balanced out with defense.

Not just from our blueliners but from our forwards too.
Fast was one of our few wingers that was above average defensively.

What will most likely happen is Quinn will run Gauthier out of town and when he lands another team will become a top 9 forwards who can do everything. lol

You’re fighting a good fight but people don’t (want to) hear a voice of reason when it contradicts their believes. So much outrage after 3 games into the season with no real camp or preseason can only be explained by people needing an outlet to vent their frustration at the world.
Umm....Kakko played over 14 minutes. Basically a minute less than Hughes.

What you are missing is if / when the situation repeats itself in the future - when the stakes are higher - because the coach decided to give the player a pass.

As always, people tend to build unrealistic expectations.
And I do not blame them. And he may yet develop into that. But right now, he seems to be less than the sum of his parts

My only objection is JJ ahead of Smith but even that is explainable as Martin’s choice rather than Quinn’s blunder. And don’t anyone remember outrage AT Smith and coaches when he was in the lineup in any capacity? I guess times change. Only 3 games folks, only 3 games...

No one is stating that DeAngelo was the worst player in that game. But when your boss tells you that something is expected and then you choose not to do it, the consequences are what the consequences are.
Ummm.....the season is only 3 games old. If you are going to compare the entirety of last season to all of 3 games and hold them up as equal, I can just as easily point to one game as being evidence of playing more.
