I wonder if the Jets would have any interest in trading Adam Lowry....he is an RFA this Summer . He would be a different flavor for us in the forward ranks and a welcomed addition come playoff games when the heat gets ramped up for corner work and board battles and front of net presence .

I'm curious as to what everyone thinks ours RFAs next offseason will command?

Pavel Buchnevich
Filip Chytil
Julien Gauthier
Brett Howden
Ryan Lindgren
Igor Shesterkin

The Rangers are scheduled to have around $28.2M in cap room under a flat $81.5M cap.

I also wonder what Mika will command? Same for Adam Fox. This team has so many talented young Defensemen.

Adam Fox
Ryan Lindgren
K'Andre Miller
Matthew Robertson
Tarmo Reunenen
Nils Lundkvist
Braden Schenieder
Zachary Jones
Yegor Rykov
Libor Hajek

Can't have all of them on the NHL team in a few years right? I assume some will be trade bait to get a better 2C.

I'm hoping Kaapo & Alexis develop well, I absolutely love Panarin, Mika, & Buch. Not sure what they do with DeAngelo. I also want to see Morgan Barron, and I can't wait to see Krav's over here. Also hoping Trouba proves his $8M AAV worth.

It does seem to be the consensus that there will be consolidation moves coming.

I like DeAngelo a ton but given his age (and that's not really about his actual age but rather his age in reference to how close he is to unrestricted free agency), he seems likely to be one that will be on the move.

And I know this gets furious push back but I still think it's ultimately wise to earmark Trouba for possible trade as well, albeit not any time relatively soon. But we will need every last dollar and so we also are going to need good value contracts. You can't have a player getting paid like a top pair D but then not playing like one.

Trouba has been good not great even when he's on, and he's also had some off nights where he's been bad. For $8m that is a tough pill to swallow when you might be having to pay someone else to play on your top pair, like Adam Fox.

I tend to think that when some of these kids move off ELCs, or move off bridge deals, Trouba may be moved to clear space to re-sign Fox to a mega-deal, and then Schneider takes his role, etc. Something like that.

The shoe's on the other foot now for Torts. He was on the other side of things when Rick Nash got traded here.

Luuucc. Use the force Luc. Use the force. Lol

PLD played like he's just biding his time until he gets moved. That could turn into a contentious situation rather quickly given some of the personalities involved.
It’s going to get uncomfortable sooner rather than later for sure

I doubt it. Lowrys a core guy for them imo.

Not the first time. Bread, Bob, Gabby (though they forced him out rather than vice-versa), Luongo, now Luc.

Torts LOVES alienating his top players. Control freak who needs HIS teams to be built HIS way (full of overachieving grinders that can barely get out of the second round of the playoffs). Won't win jack shit ever again.

Zac Jones is a very good prospect. I have high hopes for him, hopefully as a Ranger. Have a feeling teams who may want to trade with the Rangers in the future are going to be watching his progression closely.

Zac Jones is a real good prospect. Wouldn't be the least suprised if teams wanting to trade with the Rangers are/will be looking at him. Guys a player

Strome can slide to wing if Dubois is brought in and he isn't part of the package. That's part of the value he brings in the fact that he can play wing or center although Chytil to me seems like the guy Columbus would key in on.

He also gets more out of the sum of his parts. Builds consistent winning cultures. But yeah, you end up with very little offensive creativity. There are a lot of playoff miles on Tortorella coached players. For the top players, that's a payday. BTW playoff games make millions too. But yeah you can only take so much of that for so long. That's probably why a guy like Dale Hunter stays in juniors.

Anderson deserves the money, that man knew nothing but Dale Hunter and John Tortorella for nearly a decade of his professional formative life.

A lot of the Boston Sports guys are champions.

Brady.

They just brought his father on as an assistant coach or something like that too. Not for the affiliate or anything like the Dubois rumors, but for the actual NHL club. Doubt he goes anywhere.

I don't see a good match between Minnesota and Columbus. Columbus will be looking for young players who can play now. I doubt Minnesota would be willing to trade either Fiala or Kaprisov, and after those two, is there really anything that will interest Columbus?

That is why I think the offer will be astronomical. Multiple firsts and players/prospects. They have the D in place. Two top wingers likely in Kaprizov and Fiala. And recently drafted Rossi. If they can land PLD, they are set up for many years. And can sacrifice multiple firsts. CBJ can use the return to go after Barkov in the summer.

I would love Lowry. I wanted him in the Hayes deal. underrated player in my opinion.

I think the only way ADA is involved with a PLD trade is if he's a guy who gets dealt to facilitate the acquisition. Meaning he gets dealt afterwards to recoup the kind of assets given up to Columbus, or he's dealt beforehand for pieces Columbus might want. I can't envision him being a piece that Columbus would like to have.

it gets push back because he has a no trade clause. Players ask for those because they want to stay in a specific area, in trouba’s case his fiancé is in residency in nyc.

The rangers are considered a class organization because we don’t do things like sign a player to a no trade contract and then right before that contract starts move the player to a team he’d never play for.

We have this reputation and players sign with us because of that. We’re not ruining that reputation.

Did Brooks seriously suggest Trouba for captain. Boy id rlly dislike that, though thats one way to avoid the Captain’s curse. Trouba would certainly be unphased by it.

And water is wet lol. I fully expect the rangers to get 1 of PLD, Eichel, or Barkov in the next 2 years. They have amassed so much young talent in these short 3 years that they are not going to be able to play everybody or pay everybody. A sizable move is coming friends. I think we see it at the end of this season.

Sometimes I listen to Winnipeg TSN radio and by all accounts they love Lowry and what he brings.

I think it was more like "Do you want to go to Columbus or do you want to continue to play for Tort?" and he gladly signed the waiver.

Is PLD not getting along with Torts?
