Distraction or not, unless it just becomes UNBEARABLE, I doubt that Dubois moves in season. They will scratch him and hold him out before they move him in a bad deal and making a deal with a Canadian team this season just isn't feasible so that market is kind of limited.

Plus we're a bad Buffalo season away from being like the landing spot for Eichel. I wouldn't blow my wad right now just because Dubois may be available. I'd take him at the right price, but patience is our friend here and we're not one player way from being a contender.

Eichel being signed is key to giving up the extra assets needed to swing deal

Taking a dumb penalty and then compounding it by mouthing off to the ref and slamming the penalty door. Which got him another penalty on top of the original.
This. And the Rangers are coming off their most dominant win in a long time. I wouldn't change a thing if I were Quinn.

Dubois to Rangers for DeAngelo, Kravtsov, Howden and 1st in 2021?? Fair or close or not at all? Seems fair to me.

Given the situation it might be somewhat of an overpayment. ADA is the prime piece. Assuming Columbus must take a ready NHL center - in your package it’s Howden - then IMO it’s either Kravtsov or a 1st round pick. If I were Columbus I’d take Kravtsov and maybe also insist on adding a 2nd round pick.

From my perspective I’d rather offer someone like lundkvist or Schneider than kratsov.
Our prospect depth is on the defensive side rather than forward and if we decide we can’t afford buch, then not having Kratsov in 2 years will really hurt.

The question is, what do we do with Strome in these scenarios? He’s worth more than a 2nd imo. And if we add Dubois, where does Strome shift? 3rd ln C blocking Chytil? 2nd line RW blocking Kakko(and eventually Kravtsov)?

Wouldn’t a more logical deal involve us moving TDA + Strome + a future 1st or Kravtsov for Dubois + a competant LD? Does anyone on Columbus come to mind?

Do you know how badly Columbus could use Tony DeAngelo? Guy could transform that back end. They’re so tough defensively easily mask his shortcomings and he’d be huge for them on the pp and pushing the game. If they don’t want him it’s literally only because he’s an ass. But if I’m Columbus he’s a big time ask for me along with probably chytil. They’ll never get kakko or Laf. Maybe they even get a first from us too in a terrible 2021 draft.

And not for nothing Howden is a better long term 3C for us than Chytil would be. Chytil has to be in a scoring role but Howden If he continues to develop to slot him behind Mika and Dubois would be ideal.
