Unfortunately probably yes, although I would imagine most teams in the league have a pretty good idea of who he is. Offensive dynamo, defensive liability, head case.
So many have to realize the rangers aren’t going to get much of anything if they trade him. So as of note next proposals have to be like TDA for vesey or less..

how about a guy like C Colin White from the Senators?? right handed shot 23 years old. former 1st round pick in 2015

Id sooner keep ADA then trade him for nothing- just would mean we’d have to jettison cap elsewhere like Buchnevich and use Lundkvist in a package to get a center.

I go back and forth on this. I can understand wanting to sign certain guys long term right away but some guys develop more slowly. If Kaako develops this year and fulfills what most people would envision as a good season for him (pro-rated, say he scores 45-50 points which is about 31-33 points in the shortened season) and next year he scores 60 over 82 games. If the Rangers bridge him for 2 years and THEN sign him to an 8 year deal they will have control over him for a grand total of 15 years starting at age 18. That takes him to 33.

On the flip side, if they sign him immediately to an 8 year deal, they are guaranteed to have control over him for 11 years, or until he turns 29.

I understand the possible benefit of signing certain guys long term right away, but if they envision some of these kids as long-term pieces, it may be nice for them to have control of them through their prime guaranteed.

obviously it depends on how he is developing but those extra 2 years could cause the aav on the 8 year deal to go up...with a player of that caliber you are probably better to extend him before he is a star and gamble he will make it rather than wait and then have to pay him more after he's a star...and he'd still be young enough at the end of the deal to give him another big contract

bridge deals make sense for lots of players but i'd try to avoid them with kakko, lafreniere and fox is we can.

1. I doubt Tony is out until a loss. Something other than a dominating win will do it.

2. same with Georgiev.

3. sitting a couple games isn’t affecting trade value.

4. maybe Tony will realize his actions can affect more than the immediate moment.
No, but this adds up.
A PP1QB with a career high league leading points for a defenseman get benched and then he constantly shit on internet and for his internet behavior.. is treated like this? Many teams can see the writing on the wall. He will be traded for a bag of pucks and pain killers at this point. People clamoring for his trade shouldn’t be disappointed when they see the return. I will fess up if I’m wrong in. I like the player, he adds a lot to the team. On a side note social media is a mistake. I never wanted to know what anyone does, be it famous athletes, actors etc. shit, I dont care what most do. Don’t let it be the leader of your life and that’s what has happened. Whether with professional decisions or just waking up everyday and posting( I’m not talking about message boards. Btw) . Maybe I’m alone in this but I just want to enjoy the greatest sport in the world. I’m really sick of everything guys, forgive me or not.

I've been blasted for this before, but
I’m thinking they just expose Strome regardless,
I don't see any downside to protecting Gauthier, Howden, or Lemieux over Strome,

even moreso after these 2 games
Agree, May be able to get a 4th back even. Option is even more valid If Howden and Gauthier take positive steps and look Lemieux will price himself out of a 4th line role on this team in a couple of years but meanwhile brings an element we need if harnessed

Management needs to ban his in season posting, it’s become a distraction to the team goals.

Pretty sure that teams will find space for a young defenseman, who was pacing for 60 points. Patrick Kane had no problems finding employment and he is actually guilty of assault.

No, but the point remains. When it comes to talent, teams in all professional leagues tend to look the other way.

And being Kane does not change the fact that he actually committed assault.

All true but Chicago didn't have to give up assets to take a gamble on him, and to be fair Kane never really had any set backs performance wise, he was always elite. DeAngelo has had a year and a half where he scored at a high level in the nhl, and before that he moved around the league having a hard time securing a spot either due to production or discipline problems. I don't think it's really a good comparison even if i get what you're saying. I think there's a bit of a gamble introducing Tony to a team, and to be honest i do think while there probably shouldn't be there would be teams that would be out on him based on his off ice stuff and more than likely some teams that would take him but they'd likely be uncomfortable giving a "55 point" dmans return. It would be tough to get what people here feel is fair value for him.

Any insight from our insiders on TDA? What happened? Is a trade in the works? Are they pissed about his ridiculous politics, like I am? Just strange that he’s being held out.

Distraction or not, unless it just becomes UNBEARABLE, I doubt that Dubois moves in season. They will scratch him and hold him out before they move him in a bad deal and making a deal with a Canadian team this season just isn't feasible so that market is kind of limited.

Plus we're a bad Buffalo season away from being like the landing spot for Eichel. I wouldn't blow my wad right now just because Dubois may be available. I'd take him at the right price, but patience is our friend here and we're not one player way from being a contender.

The assets required to get Eichel would strip the team of both young prospects and depth. Eichel doesn't really have any way to force the issue, he doesn't have a no trade or no move to control his own fate and force a single team the way nash did, and even the nash trade stripped us of a bunch of depth (it just happened to be that we got way more than columbus did out of that trade).

I like PLD and would love to acquire him, but I'm also not sure we don't just ride out this season because if Chytil really does take a step we cant afford Eichel/PLD + Chytil + Mika with the other talent we're going to have to pay.

We have a boat load of both. Much more than we did when we traded for Nash.

He can't force his way here, but not everyone is going to have the pieces to make competitive offers. If "wanting to win" is something that he wants, he isn't going to want to go to a rebuilding team like LA/Anaheim, and I don't know that they'd want him.

His market isn't as limited as PLD's, but it's not a really deep one. Regardless, that is a player where you're looking at moving much more, but he's also a much better player than PLD. Dude is an excellent player.

I'd try to ride out a year with both Mika and Eichel though. We would really be best served trying to win at least once before Laf and crew are up for 2nd contracts. Eichel would be the perfect insurance for Mika though as if he were to walk as a UFA, you've got a hell of a replacement already in the wings.

NO ONE aside from fans on this board could care less about his politics. Him being a Trump supporter is no better or worse than LeBron James being a Biden supporter.
