If I were PLD or his agent I’d be salivating looking at the NYR lines last night. Could there be a better job in the league up for grabs than the C between Panarin and Lafreniere?

I’m gonna put a stake in the ground and say if / when he gets moved it will end up being the NYR or MTL.

Who else is gonna have the guts to give up a Zegras level prospect not knowing if he will do the same thing and leave as a UFA?

Oh good, those lines work for both sides because what I’m told by CBJ fans is that we have to add to Kakko to get him.

I feel for CBJ fans on this one. That fan base has been through it the last decade watching some great players walk out the door.

If PLD is dealt they are gonna get a good haul, but I highly doubt it will match the expectations of fans on the trade board unless Bergevin makes a panic move.

Haha... yeah a Coach has NEVER been wrong before OR played favoritism with a particular player. NEVER. This response is laugh out loud funny. The usage of Howden, Staal, and others over the past couple of seasons means those guys played extremely well too, right? Keep dying on that hill. Putrid rebuttal.

By the way, its not hard to “focus on every little hiccup” when its a constant as the norm to his level of play. Maybe if he stopped playing irresponsibly he wouldn’t be scrutinized so much. But nope, he continues to make the same mistakes. But I get it, some people will defend a guy no matter what. This is one of those players for you. Take the blinders off.

Im not sure why you don't apply for the coaching job, seems as though you're never wrong, im sure your resume as the smartest forum poster in the universe should blow them away. Why would they want a life long coach who apparently doesnt know anything about coaching or player evaluations running the bench when they could have poster RGY of the rangers HF. Makes total sense to me, lemme know how that goes.

Agreed. I think they will get good value, but Lafreniere aside, Kakko is maybe the top wing prospect in the league. Love being told that he’s not even close in value...which is fine actually, because I’d rather see Kakko thrive here for the next 10 years.

I think Calgary could be a bidder if they don't get off to a good start. That Monahan+Hanafin bundle we kicked around here for ages could be really appealing to a team like Columbus. They get a couple good players who they don't have to wait on, as opposed to someone like Chytil or Kotkaniemi who might need a while before they become real contributors.

Beyond those three though, I don't see a huge market. Maybe Anaheim if Columbus really likes Rakell, but I don't think guys like Zegras, Suzuki, Kakko, etc are going to be going anywhere in a PLD trade. There will be bidders but nobody is making a Godfather offer for a guy who wants to leave town.

Rick Nash was a 28-year old 1st line winger with a NMC. Dubois is a 22-year old 1st line center still in his RFA years

He's a 22 year old asking out of a franchise that drafted him because he "Wants a bigger stage" reportedly.

That's gonna decrease your value, both because it shows pettiness, and because it lowers the list of potential destinations.

I also think that if the Rangers land PLD it's because they see him as the heir to Zibanejad, not a guy who slots in behind him for the next 7 years. You don't put 3-4 pieces on the table for a high end #2 center. Especially when you have enough firepower on the wings to prop up a passable pivot like Strome.

If you move Chytil for PLD, you're probably looking at trading Zibanejad for a Chytil++ in the near term. Shuffling the pieces around to add a high-end center who can possibly produce like Zib but is heading into his prime as opposed to his 30's.

Did it decrease St Louis' value when he wanted out and only waive for 1 team?

Even Calgary would have to be an off season move. The Covid situation kind of f***s the Canadian teams since players have to quarantine for a while if they're moving across borders.

Haha nah I never claimed to be the smartest poster, fan, or that I am never wrong. This is another lazy response on your end, defaulting to a childish response because someone is calling out a player you love. Its going to be ok.

I know this is hard for you because of the blinders you have on, but it could very well be that an NHL Head Coach has some flaws in player evaluation. Especially one that had no NHL Head Coaching experience prior to being hired by the Rangers. It is indeed possible that DQ does some things well and other things poorly. But I know that cannot possibly apply here because it does not fit your argument or narrative in defending Ryan Strome. Does Strome have some offensive ability and talent? Sure. But his flaws and shortcomings far outweigh the positives and thats what makes him a crappy hockey player. Panarin drives that line and Strome is a passenger. I would love for someone to pull up that graphic NHLN had during the offseason with Strome’s advanced stats with Panarin and without him. The difference is drastic. It is a wide gap, not some small marginal drop off. Overall, he is a bad hockey player. A 3rd liner. He has no business being on PP1. But then again we are watching Howden get PP2 time with Chytil and Kakko getting none. Coach is never wrong though, right? Bottom line is, the disdain for Strome is more than justifiable.

Like I said, keep dying on the Ryan Strome hill.

Send in your resume smarty pants, make sure you include this post in it.

that can't be answered without knowing what tb could have gotten if they had the option to trade him to any team...decreased value does NOT mean cheap or free. it means less than it would have been otherwise.

Regarding PLD, are you guys not worried about making a Seth Jones for Ryan Johanson type trade? People thought that RJ was going to improve and he didn't really. These deals are a lot to give up for mostly projection.
