Oh, if I were visiting NY when an HF pickup game could be organized, I’d play for sure. Coming up for Christmas for about a week :naughty:

Why is Brassard coming up again? We traded him at the absolute right time. He was slowing down then, he's even slower now. No thanks.
His nickname is Big Game Brass, his presence on a young team could be sort of like Justin Williams. He's a really clutch player who rises to the occasion, we could also use a player with a big shot like his. Players are going for really cheap contracts this offseason, he would be a fantastic upgrade in our bottom 6. Maybe he's embarrassed by how lopsided everyone says the Mika trade was and it'll light a competitive fire under him too

I could see Brassard being a Vinny Prospal-esque signing for us.

He doesnt have much left, but he's skilled enough to be productive with a star player like Panarin.

Panarin-Brassard-Strome could actually be an amazing line.

I legit have a VO2 max of 64mL, I’ll skate/run circles around you all!
I want to actually set this up some day, would be a lot of fun. Maybe come playoff time when we’re in a cup run and we can all catch the game together too

That means nothing if you get plastered into the third row.

But 64 for a layman is pretty impressive. Elite Olympic sprinters are around like 80.

Hockey is great at marketing to the diehards but struggles with the casual fans.

Speaking of diehard vs. casual fans I remember reading a couple months back a quote from Bettman I believe where he said the NHL's return to play ratings were down not because the diehards didn't tune in but because hockey in the summer was just not a big enough priority in the minds of casual fans to compete with all the other sports/leisure activities that are going on in the summer.

I like Soderberg as a cheap option as well. VO2 max is great but if you’re a shoddy skater it doesn’t mean a whole lot. Not saying you are, but edgework and stride efficiency will negate that kind of advantage. I’m a 200lb defenseman whose best attribute is skating, so I’m fine with chasing the big hit :sarcasm:

Forget playing hockey. Let’s see who can last the longest on the circuit ;)
I've done a Strongman circuit with one of his colleagues who is the strength coach for Florida Gators basketball in the 90+ degree heat two summers ago. Had to finish by pushing a car up an incline.

I think we can spend or just not spend cap space more wisely. You're asking a lot from a guy who hasn't shown a lot since he left here. I'll take Barron over him at this point.

For the right price, and in the right role, Brassard can be very useful. Nobody complained when we signed Dom Moore for a 2nd stint

Dom Moore could always skate, penalty kill and win faceoffs when he was here. If you are bringing Brassard in its for pp..I think worth everyone we have we don't need help on the pp.

Speaking of Roster Building and the people who are responsible, Gorton given a pretty mediocre grade. Things that most like around here (buyouts for the short term dead cap space) are panned. Actually, no real positives that are hit on. Draft luck and free agent score is mentioned.

NHL Power Rankings: Ranking the NHL general managers

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
This board has spoiled me. I read hardly anything Ranger related aside from what’s here. I peek at Twitter in case there’s some breaking news. But no one is beating our insiders and our commentators. Cheers, you all. Even the brusque ones ;)
