Yeah but Strome isn't a gritboi
Neither are guys who score 1 goal.Perimeter players aren't winning shit come playoff time.
That's the point..
At less than 1.25 I’ve take a flyer on Gauthier . Big kid , good on face offs and he and AL can reminisce about Rimouski.
If Strome asks for that much you just don't sign him. Nobody is holding a gun to our heads.
That's preferable to giving him a terrible contractStrome will end up walking away for nothing..
General manager Jeff Gorton said there’d already been discussions about moving one of the righties to the off-side, where there is a vacancy created by the trade of Marc Staal to Detroit. DeAngelo played a fair amount on the left side through his junior career
“We have talked about moving Tony and we’ve talked about our right side and who is the best person to move over there,” Gorton said. “I don’t think it’s going to be [Trouba], so we’ve talked about [Fox] and Tony in these ongoing conversations, trying to get them more ice time. We have a very talented right side that can move the puck and we do have two guys we think are very capable.
“Actually our organization thinks we have a young player in Sweden [Lundkvist] that can play on the off-side, too. We’re pretty comfortable they can do it and we’ve had a lot of conversations about that, moving forward for next year.”

we could have got Ryan Murray for a 5th? Gordon where the hell were you?
That's preferable to giving him a terrible contract
$4.6M for a 3rd pairing D isn't good value on the cap even if it's only one year. Tons of cheap FA Ds that can bring similar value for a fraction of the cap.
Brooks brought it up because Gorton mentioned it yesterday...Vince’s podcast today talked specifically about Tony moving to the left and him feeling more and more like that will be the case. I don’t think Brooks brought it up coincidentally. I think these guys have been hearing this recently.
Give me a stick. I'll center Panarin.True.. They need someone who can put up points when Stome is gone

I said last night, Gorton is not going to publicly come out and say “we aren’t going to play DeAngelo on the left” because it takes leverage away from them in trade talks
And Vince I got nothing, he’s not plugged in at all

by the way again on Fast I believe from Gorton’s message the Rangers have made an offer it’s just not a great one and it’s up to Fast what he wants to do
Think theyre gonna go in on HallWhat’s Columbus clearing cap for?

Its dumbfounding teams are willing to commit long term to him. He has a good and healthy year, every 4 years.Think theyre gonna go in on Hall

supposedly hes willing to take a short term deal so well seeIts dumbfounding teams are willing to commit long term to him. He has a good and healthy year, every 4 years.
Wallmark is a guy I have seen a lot of. The Hurricanes trusted him in every situation and was effective across the board. Only was moved because he was in the Trocheck deal.Koivu would be a romantic signing but the harsh reality is that he was a healthy scratch for part of the season and stuck on the fourth line of a bad hockey team. I don't think there's much left in the tank.
Borowiecki seems like a good target to me. Wallmark too.
I do get the feeling there's not going to be a huge, lucrative market for Jesper Fast and he may also find his way back to us.
