Why is it assumed they're moving Schmidt? They will try everything in their ability to move MAF first, and then some excess F depth.

There not much of a market for that contract. It would have happened before spots started getting taken

DeAngelo and Strome are both kind of...confusing players, and it's fine to not want to commit big dollars and term to either one of them, especially Strome. At the same time, some of these elaborate schemes to shuffle the deck with trades and signings look worse to me than just staying put.

Schmidt is excellent. If I were Gorton, I'd be ringing Vegas' phone off the hook.

I don't love that idea for Vegas. Yes, Pietrangelo is better, but you're getting 20 bananas more expensive to get 5 bananas better at hockey.

I have no idea why Vegas is moving Schmidt. He’s been a rock for them for three years and a locker room leader. He would be a perfect partner for Trouba.

Perhaps the Rangers could get involved in a three way trade swapping ADA as their part.
