They probably realized that which is why they went ahead and bought Lundqvist out. They would have gotten a terrible return, if any, for Geo.

They realized this last year. It’s why J.D. immediately told Hank we are not going with three goalies next year. No reason to lose kids while carrying three goalies which was a problem last year that needed to end.

What would be a good return for De Angelo in a trade to Vegas?

Going to keep banging the drum for Wallmark here. By far the best option considering cost and need.

Rumors that the Hawks are asking their vets to waive NMCs and they’re gonna go with a youth rebuild.

I’d take Keith. Cap hit is 5.5M, 3 years left. Would be a phenomenal veteran to mentor the youth and insulate them while guys like Robertson and Miller break into the NHL. Only has like 7M in real dollars left over those final three years as well, so he’d be very movable in his last year.

Still super mobile, about .5 PPG and playing 24 minutes a night. Can’t really think of a better veteran to have in the locker room teaching our guys how to be winners and mentoring the young D.

this is pretty typical for you. Kravtsov isn’t even in that lineup yet but you found a reason to complain I rushed him into replacing a player lol.
Who is complaining? I am just pointing out to you factors that may cloud your pie in the sky scenario. So go ahead, and point out where I am complaining about him.

Which of of these looks far more realistic? You replacing a player with top line production with a rookie who has not played a single NHL game and was not good enough to make the team next year or asking for some prudence before you start to make out the line up as I would like to see if Kravsov can even make the team before we start to claim he can replace top line production.
Barron is going to be on this team. Rangers did not convince him to sign to go to the AHL. I can pretty much guarantee you that. But if you want to flip him with Lemieux go ahead makes no difference .
You know this how? What do you believe that Gorton, Quinn & JD guaranteed him a spot in the top-9? That sounds very realistic to you?
And as has been pointed out many times including the very last game they played. Kreider has switched over to right wing multiple times without issue.
And as has been pointed out to you many times that Kreider has spent the great majority of his career on the left side. This is not EA sports where you can play defensemen as forwards. The real world does not work like that.

Should they give him a look-see in camp to see how he does? Sure. Why not? But should you be making seasonal plans ass-u-m-ing it will so easily work out? I would say a betting man would not bet on such an item as if it is a sure thing.

id give Fast that money but not Namestikov who stunk here.
I don’t know, I don’t think he was used properly.
Just before he was traded I remember Machinehead and one other poster( could have been Kreiderbomb?) suggesting he should have been tried centering the first line with Panarin because of his past success in Tampa playing alongside more talented players.

What if the Rangers did this until it’s time prob mid season to trade Buchy and replace with Kravtsov

LafreNYR Zibanejad Kreider
Panarin Chytil Kakko
Barron Wennberg Buchnevich
Lemieux Howden Gauthier

lot of balance there imo

oh and Barron will be making this team
I think this is pretty freaking solid. And I think Chytil is gona make people eat a lot of crow in the middle of Panarin and a improved Kakko. I may get grief for this, but depending on Howdens offseason workouts went he might open a lot of eyes as well. Coaches and teammates love he because they say he doesn’t whatever it takes to win for the team. If he trained like an animal and is harder to knock off the puck he could be a pretty good player. He is still pretty young and will definitely be playing with better line mates. The cup champs loved the kid. I remember their fans being pissed he was included in the McD deal. Took DeAngelo a little longer to put it all together as well. Tampa drafts good players in the first Rd when they have picks lol. I’m not even a huge Howden guy but I think many are selling him a little short. He was always buzzing around at full speed, going to the net, back checking. He just wasn’t heavy enough and looked like he was trying to do too much. I’d start him at 4C and see how is goes for 10 games or so. Just my 2 cents

As long as he ain't dropping gloves out of his weight class a-la Svechnikov v. Ovie. People are gonna learn real quick that Lafreniere is more than just a "skill guy".
Playing with snarl and dropping the gloves are two entirely different things.

They don't have too many players over 30... is this including Kane/Toews???

Supposedly. Reactions from fans are to move Toews and give Dach/Strome the top 2 spots but keep Kane.

Don't waste your time.

I'll go on record that I think there is zero chance they could get Glass/Krebs + someone like Tuch out of Vegas for Tony

They would need to clear salary so it would be more like Glass/Krebs + McNabb

I dont care how much they value Theodore. For ADA, he needs to be in the conversation, even if we have to add to get both Theodore and a Glass/Krebs.

There’s no chance. I’d push for Schmidt if possible though.

I think management likes Brett Howden ALOT more than fans do. They see a lot of what you’re saying here. Won’t be surprised to see him as a 3C here long term.

I’ll add (and not in relation to the quote above) but for people clinging to Buchnevich he will not be here next year. He’s got one year left tops. The rangers are not going to invest 5 plus mil in him on the wing with the kids they’ve drafted. It’s not going to happen forget it.

If Keith is going to waive to go anywhere, its out west. He's from BC and I believe his son lives there full time.

If Vancouver misses on OEL, I wouldn't be shocked to see them turn their attention to Keith.
