This can be a real exciting time around the league and definitely for us coming up tuesday eve.
Just stepping back and looking at it when have we have such a mix of "vets" who could play, unreal prospects and more coming along, and cap space? This is like being up 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Just don't pull an Atlanta Falcons in the superbowl. Be a little more patient and look 2-3-4 years down the road.

Is Stamkos' injury history and contract length too scary to even think about? I feel like he could probably be had for a reasonable price right now with where Tampa is at cap wise and obviously he's still one hell of a center(when healthy).

Yes.

I'd love to get my paws on Eichel. Ever since Bob dropped the vile, I'm hooked on whatever he dropped.
The problem is the cost would be astronomical. I understand Fans want to win this very minute but let’s finish the rebuilding process. We have done a great job and have gotten some luck. We moved up to get Kakko now we win the lottery.

I feel weirdly hesitant about Eichel. Just really not sure if it's the right move...I dunno why exactly. Part of me wonders if there's some of those BS "character concern" type things going on in my head, how much of the issues in Buffalo had to do with him as well? The fact that even though he's a star player, he's had trouble staying healthy and hasn't put up quite what I'd consider truly elite numbers.
What would be the cost, what would be the effect on the team the Rangers are trying to build?

e: personally I think it's doubtful it happens but I guess you never know. For some reason I'd rather have Barkov but maybe that's dumb

Sigh with the Eichel stuff. We waited a while to acquire this much youth, and before we even know what we have, it’s trade it all away for another big name.

the more things change, the more they stay the same.
