Because it’s more likely than Cozens + 8. Buffalo will never do that.

and we wouldn't consider the counter offer...it doesn't matter what buffalo would do. its about what we would accept. we have all the leverage. if they don't want to pay it, they can pound sand.

The Ducks at #6 are wiling to move their pick. Their scouting director Martin Madden said the Ducks aren’t married to the pick. The Ducks believe there is a top tier 1-3. The players 4-12 have the same value. The Ducks believe it’s a really deep draft until the mid 20’s. He spoke with Eric Stephens of The Athletic. Long time Ducks beat writer.

The Ducks are looking for a player to help their current team or pick up another pick by moving down.

Tony DeAngelo is a fit for them. They need an offensive D. Right-handed shot. They offered Kevin Shattenkirk a multi-year deal last summer. Their need is still there.

The Rangers pick up #6 and select Marco Rossi who is compared to Nicklas Backstrom. He should be there at #6. The Rangers get their center. Rossi isn’t far away from playing in the NHL.

DeAngelo and #22 for #6 and the Bruins #1 pick if they don’t want to swap #6 for Tony.

Done.

On the trade of 1oa issue, Tkachuk and 5 is a hard no from me, but Tkachuk, 3OA AND 5OA, is something I seriously have to consider.

Tkachuk is no Lafreniere, but he's another top 6 LW for your roster, today. The 3OA and 5OA for sure net you a center at least on par with a Zegras.... whether that is Stutzle or Byfield, you get one at 3. Say it's Byfield.

Then you also get another top-6, potential top line winger at 5, or a possible 1D.

Sanderson/Drysdale/Raymond/Holtz

I mean, that's an attractive haul.

A 1C, a 1D, and a top 6 LW.

So, Kreider on line 4, sounds awesome...

Id love @Edge take on this but i feel like if a Deangelo + 22 for 6 deal were to take place our choice there would probably be Holtz
I am clearly not Edge, but think that unless there is no choice in the matter, they are not looking to deal DeAngelo for picks or prospects.

You may be right as I said was just spit balling because the thought of Eichel on this team is simply very tantelizing.

Do you think Buffalo would take Robertson instead of Kravstov and keep the rest of your proposal the same? I really don't want to deal Kravstov at all as I could easily see him blowing up somewhere else. I'd rather it be here. Giving up Chytil is tough enough but you got to give something to get something is the old adage.
Just my guess, but I think they would not care if it is Kravstov or Robertson. And Robertson becoming a solid top-4 option may be even more appealing than Kravstov becoming a top-6 option.

Can someone please talk me off the ledge that the Rangers will trade the 1st overall pick? I don’t think I can handle basically the first time ever of us getting this pick and it being traded.

I feel like I'm always underestimating Tony's value around here but I gotta say, I don't think 6 for TDA and 22 is very good value for us. Don't get me wrong, I'm as high on Sanderson as the next guy, but giving up DeAngelo for a huge gamble doesn't seem like the kind of move Gorton would make.
I'm with you. I mean if you take someone like Drysdale, you only hope he can put near the offense that DeAngelo is doing.

could go crazy and trade ada for 6, then package 6,22, chytil, kratsov, another asset for Eichel. who knows at this point what Gorts is gonna do

Trade Bait: Frozen cap makes ‘franchise-changing’ players available - TSN.ca

The hype train is careening straight for that cliff in the distance.

lol yeah this kinda sounds BS

Like I"m sure lots of teams are exploring ideas on trading or moving things around because of flat cap issues but on the other hand no one's just gonna give these players away for free. The asks are still gonna be huge while at the same time everyone else is loath to part with young cost controlled players and top prospects exactly because of the flat cap/salary concerns

Yeah, but why do that when they can just subsitute DeAngelo for the 6 and you have the same deal, basicallly?

I do not think they are looking to deal DeAngelo. Gorton will listen to all offers, as he well should. Never know if something makes sense. But again, unless there is absolutely no choice in the matter, I do not see them moving a 60 point defenseman for something other than what can get inserted into the every day line up immediately.

And still not sure that Eichel is the right more or the right time for this team.

I don’t think the Rangers are looking to dump DeAngelo, but, I think they are definitely listening, and move him if they get the right deal.

I also don't think " 6,22, chytil, kratsov, another asset" gets the job done.

The odds are very, very slim, and it would take a once in a decade type offer to pry that pick from our hands. To quote JD in an interview he did after the lottery win and I am paraphrasing here, "it would have to take an offer that would knock off our pants, shoes, and socks to move the pick."

Barring some crazy and unimaginable offer at the last hour, Laf will be a Ranger in a little over 5 days.

It's possible buff would prefer the pick to deangelo?
