I really don't get the Holloway hate if we take him at 22. Laf plus Holloway would be a really great first day.

Personally, I like Holloway because I think he's going to serve a useful and unique role even if he never becomes a higher-end scorer.

Wouldn't have been my pick at 10 or 12. But 22? Yeah, I'd take that and run with it.

I completely understand and I respect that.

I will say the Rangers are very high on him. He's definitely in their top 20, quite possibly even closer to the top 10 for them.

So it's more of an FYI than anything else.
Yeah no definitely not trying to shoot the messenger, just pretty concerning because I fully expect a guy like Amirov at least to be available there.

I love Guhle so I'm good with that. Lefty Trouba?

He could/should be. I'm always hesitant to say, "this is the guy they're going to pick" because you could have someone who slides, or that one player they have ranked higher.

Amirov could very well be 13 on their list, with Guhle 12 and Lapierre 11.

So at 14, Amirov would be a natural choice --- just depends on who else is there and where the Rangers have them.

100% agreed. I also think Holloway sticks at C, so that might just be an extra little benefit if we stick at 22 and he's there, as well.

Also, we're going to be 5 days out in like 6 hours. Time to lower those trading Laf odds? :P

Surprised there wasnt more to the Vegas-DeAngelo connection since there were two calls within 24 hours

Sometimes it comes in spurts, or it's more of a long game.

Vegas is probably going to make a run for Pietrangelo, so unless they know for sure they are out of that race, I don't think they're in a rush. Frankly, I don't think the Rangers are either.

Edmonton, along with Carolina and Chicago, are potential candidates for Georgiev. As is San Jose.

So there are at least two paths to moving up with someone like Edmonton.

You could, theoretically, flip 22 and Georgiev. Or, if you can get San Jose to agree to their higher second, you could flip that pick and 22 for 14.

Do you think there is any hesitation to trade Georgiev right now? Obviously, Sheshty knocked it out of the park in his limited debut with us and has been a winner everywhere he has been... but do you think they play it safe and wait until midway through the season to trade him?

Also, any potential interest in Turris with retention? Nashville is looking to get rid of him. At 3-4 million, not a bad option for a few years.

I might be in the minority here but sign me up for Guhle at 14

I haven't gotta a sense of hesitation related to that, but I definitely think they want to maximize value and don't have any intention to trade him for, say, a third round pick.

I think the general feeling is that Shesterkin has literally done everything you could ask a kid to do up to this point.

As for Turris, he didn't come up at all.

Matherson said that the Oilers will only move back if Jarvis or Askarov are gone

If Lundell is there I’d be pretty happy with 22+Gyorg for 14

Since it took 48 to go from 26 to 22 for KeAndre Miller I'd think we'd need to add a lot more than that- especially if there's a liked faller on the board in Lundell.

I'm sure McKenzie put it out there for a reason. Part of that is because he's been around long enough that I expect he can tell when he's being fed a line of BS about a scoop but it could be in part what you're saying as well. Buffalo denies and denies. Eichel's camp denies. But now it's out there festering. Could be the Rangers way of trying to light a fire under the Sabres ass by making it public because now it sort of forces them to act to either improve the team immediately or move on Eichel. Both of which seem to be things the Rangers are involved in, in some way or another. The Sabres were asking about Buchnevich last year at the draft. I believe Edge said they inquired about ADA as well. So even if this ultimately doesn't lead to Eichel being a Ranger, it could force the Sabres to cough up a little bit more to add guys like Tony and Buch to help their team in the short term.

Even Fridge touched on in in 31 Thoughts. He said this is something that could come up again in the spring if the Sabres don't make big changes and get better quick. Does anyone thing Adams wants this hanging over his head for the duration of his first year at the helm? Hell no.

I think it's legitimately a timing thing. Perhaps the date is the draft, but if nothing happens, I'm sure Eichel has a say in that. Jack would be a valued member of the team, and a centerman of his skills gets to see what life is like having likes of Panarin, Lafreniere, Kakko, & Kreider as his wingers. Perhaps even Buchnevich or Kravstov.

Add in a better team around him, and a fresh change of scenery. I mean Jack's gotta ask himself what does another year do to his mental health? Does he have the patience to sit through another year. I think between him and Lafreniere you have hockey's version of Durant and Kyrie. He knows what's going to happen. So why wait another year?

By my calculations, their average age is 15.
