I’m more intrigued by a guy like Dillon DEPENDING on what he gets
This is the answer depending on what the ask is. Hanifan is too hit or miss moving forward to give up assets for. Dunn could be a good piece but likely not on the move with Pietro hitting the market. Just dont know who else is worth targeting. Brodin is off the market.

If anything you role with a combination of Lindgren/Staal/Smith/Miller/Reunanen. And revisit at the deadline or next offseason. I am hoping they could sell Smith on a cap floor team for the final year if it means it frees up money for Dillon.

Not gonna lose any sleep over it

Seriously; great he can fill in for injuries at a moment's notice, but he should never be above the 4th line in a healthy lineup. Our idiot coach can't seem that get through his thick head (along with playing no system whatsoever, and his love or Howden.) Not shedding any tears...

If Lundqvist retires Nylander for the #22 and Kravstov would be interesting. Likely would need another piece going to the Leafs.
With Kravtsov's emergence in the KHL and willingness to play the way he was taught in the AHL, I'm holding him. Nylander isn't worth all that. Screw Toronto. Something isn't right there, and I am a big believer that it's the playoffs. Lazy, skilled team. Don't want Nylander, Mitch, etc. The only guy I'd take is Matthews if I had the possibility of acquiring him.

I thought we had to trade Buchnevich eventually because we couldn't afford to keep all our wingers, now we're adding Nylander?

I give you that he's an upgrade over Buchnevich, but is that worth the difference in cost/trade assets?

I'm assuming the idea would be to use Nylander as a center, not that I'm fully on board with that idea.

With a growing number of premier names rumored to hit the market via UFA and trades, combined with the financial situation many teams find themselves in, I think it puts us in a prime position to find what we really need at good value: playoff ready, bottom six talent.

While many are squeezing their budgets to meet internal caps or to chase Pietro, Hall, Holtby, Lehner, etc we should be focusing on building an entire veteran 4th line for discount prices. We can practically one stop with a team like Vegas if they target Pietro and try to grab talent like Reeves, Stevenson, Roy, Cousins, Carrier.

I for one don't want to help Toronto out of their cap situation so they can get better. If they wanna overpay for something like that i guess it would be fine but an equal value trade with them that provides them d help isn't in this team's best interest in their quest for a cup.
