Isn't Kapanen originally the Pittsburgh pick that went to Toronto in the Kessel trade?

I dunno if he holds THAT much value.
I can see Kapanen having the better reputation bc speed and bloodlines, but it can't be that much more, especially since this was a cap dump.
I'm not fond of trading Buch for futures, but at a certain point it becomes something you can't say no to.

Moving up and one of those Center prospects would be stellar. It’s the glaring weakness in our pipeline.

Maybe pressure from keeping Eichel happy will force them to get roster players that can help tight now. They've missed the PO 9 years in a row of which the last year extended the teams to 24....that's really bad. Unless they think someone at 8 can contribute right away
But with Buch, who will need a raise soon. Let's see what he does this year and if it's not what we're looking for you can move him at the deadline which is when KHL season ends and VK can slot in on the right.
