...and then have the league investigate and discover it's a legitimate medical issue, exactly like they did with Hossa.
On the other hand, given the precedent of Hossa having a real medical issue he once was fine with, but was no longer comfortable playing with, I'm of the opinion that Staal can go on LTIR the moment he decides he's no longer comfortable playing with his vision issues.
