I truly doubt we see a young forward, apart from Kravtsov this season at least to start. There should be ample, good veterans available for $1m cap hits. No need to rush any of them when you have proven, good veterans available for so cheap

Drury is patient but he is also competitive. He will not do dumb things but he is there to get us to the cup not wait around another 4 years with early exits to see how things go. I bet he is looking hard to improve our top 6. Doesn't mean the chance is there but he is looking.

No signs that we are trading Kakko but do you guys think his value was more or less than Dach? Or exactly the same? Their stats were near identical.

They both had wrist injuries but I believe that Dach’s was so server and chronic that Chicago moved on thinking he would never be the player they thought they were getting when they drafted him.
Kaapo’s injury was acute and it shouldn’t effect his development.
I think all other G.M. would only offer trash for Kakko so Drury might as well keep him and prove all the doubters wrong.

Im just glad you didn't auto throw Kane on Panarin's opposite wing.

Bennett as a power C with Panarin and a growing Laf is intriguing as well. I don't support trading for Kane, but as far as a top 6 goes, I've seen MUCH worse. Like that one might actually be GOOD.

Bennett as a power C with Panarin and a growing Laf is intriguing as well. I don't support trading for Kane, but as far as a top 6 goes, I've seen MUCH worse. Like that one might actually be GOOD.

Kane and Panarin can still combine for 40 points each on the powerplay together, putting Kane with Zib and Kreider's skillsets makes much more sense than playing the wing opposite Panarin with how Panarin plays nowadays.

This I like a lot. Well done. But I might consider a veteran depth guy to be a pesk to play against or the brings defense and PK ability. Hornqvist if bought out. Or maybe Rafl. Something along those lines. Taking Othmann’s spot. Rydahl also an option as mentioned.

I dont mind the thought of Giroux. I just dont see him being interested in coming here. He didnt want to at the trade deadline.

IMO the best center options are (in no particular order):

Copp - 5 year deal
Malkin - 2-3 year deal
Giroux - 2-3 year deal
Bennett - 3-4 years remaining?
Scheifele - 2 years

Malkin/Giroux are similar paths taken by the Org. Short term successful vets.

Does he spite them by signing a team friendly deal with the Rangers? 3 years x $5?

If Copp does want to be here, he should smarten up and sign now. Otherwise he is either going to be signing in a place where they aren’t competitive right now and may not be for a few years OR he will have to take less than he wants to go to another contender by the time the dust settles when free agency starts and he realizes many contenders went in other directions

I don't think we can pencil in Othmann for the top line lol in my mind he was starting the season with getting his 9 game cup of coffee and if he looks good then he stays, but then if not then Goodrow or Motte goes to 3rd line and we have a different guy come in on the 4th line

A good middle 6 winger rental can certainly be found for not a crazy price at the trade deadline. Find another Vatrano or something and that team looks real good.
