I truly don't get the circlejerk for Vince amongst Ranger fans, he is an awful writer who never offers any interesting insight nor does he even break news. He always baits people on Twitter claiming to have the inside scoop, then posts his nothingburger article. A recent example:

Here's what he calls "info"...

"The first domino to fall could be a new contract for restricted free agent Kaapo Kakko.
The surprising decision to scratch him for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final signaled that the No. 2 overall pick from the 2019 draft is no longer in the untouchable trade category for the Blueshirts, but multiple people with knowledge of the situation told lohud.com, part of the USA TODAY Network, that any rumors about the 21-year-old forward wanting out have been overblown.
Kakko expressed that himself during breakup day earlier this month.
"I like to play here," he said. "(It adds) maybe more motivation. I want to show I'm better than that."

Another option at RW is Vitali Kravtsov. While it's difficult to predict exactly what the future holds given his checkered history with the organization, it's worth noting that optimism about the 2018 first-round pick playing a role on the team is higher than it's been at any point in the last nine months.

The 22-year-old recently signed a one-year, $875,000 deal, and if he's still with the team come September, the Rangers will have to keep him on the NHL roster to avoid exposing him to waivers. But the possibility of a trade can't be dismissed.
The Rangers prioritized holding their top prospects at this year's trade deadline, preferring to deal draft picks instead. That not only keeps cheap alternatives in place to fill holes in the lineup, but also maintains ammunition for potential deals.

Kravtsov remains a player that team president Chris Drury can actively shop this offseason. The same can be said for his stable of defensemen prospects, led by Zac Jones, Nils Lundkvist and Matthew Robertson. In fact, very few assets – if any – are considered off limits for a team that's aiming for a championship next season."

Everyone hates on Larry Brooks but he actually provides inside info and is an interesting writer/personality.

You’re not wrong. I still find it funny how Rangers fans rake the beat writers over the coals much like the beat writers can rake players over the coals at times. And nobody is left to keep all of us fans in check. We can type anything we want. Epstein didn’t kill himself.

Reminds me of something I posted a few years ago. I was told that Chicago brass reportedly had a shouting match the day before the draft on whether to take Dach or Zegras. Bowman made the final call, pissing off a couple of scouts. Bet they wish they had that one back.

That said, I’d trade for Dach in a minute. I saw more than enough from him in the bubble. Classic change of scenery guy.

The question is, what goes the other way? If it's Nils and Jones/Robertson would Chicago do it?

He hasn't done well in Chicago. Chicago is in such a bad place through and through they may just throw out the baby with the bathwater along with the whole bath tub in Toews and Kane.
That's what I'm thinking too. Can't be easy to be in that locker room with known "hero" cancers.

Not unhappy about this TBH. I like both of them but not too thrilled about locking either up for long term, and as I've been saying I think it's time for Strome to go regardless of the contract.
I 100% agree with you. If we do not view them as being #1 or #2 centers for a cup winner then why wrapped them up for large money and years? I'd rather trade for a guy with 1-3 years on their contract that is an actual 1-2 center.

I used to worship at the altar of Travis Schlenk but he's a buffoon so now I need Drury to be that dude.

The biggest problem with Kakko is not his skating or lack of shot.

He has no sisu (finnish word), he's more like Ferdinand the bull. He has the tools to be a real good player. But he's too soft, he screams of ''beta''. Maybe he'll turn into something more but he's playing like a scared puppy.

Just skate hard, shield the puck and crash the net.

He did that with TPS, he did what at WJC, he did that at the mens championships. He has at times done this with the Rangers. Why this is not constant with the Rangers, is a good question.

New Dancing Larry article:
  • Strome and Copp hitting the open market on 7/13
  • Rangers may circle back to Strome on Day 2 of free agency if he is still out there
  • Would not be surprised by a trade prior to or on draft day
  • Vatrano also hitting the open market
  • Mentions all the centers we've talked about (Miller, Dubois, Scheifele, Horvat, Larkin)
  • Limited space makes it tough to make moves outside of these being rentals/ 2 year players
  • Mentions that Cuylle has a legit shot of making the team
  • Nobody knows if Dach is available
I get the feeling that unless he can get a really enticing deal that Drury will slow play the offseason and if nothing breaks his way will go with the young kids.

Please no more Strome, I beg of you... f***ing hell. We will NEVER win the cup with his soft ass, his dumb penalties and his knack of missing every open net.

Dude is soft AF, an overpasser and just not good enough.

Feels like he lacks the confidence. Feed him more PP minutes, play him on the PK (I think he'd be good at killing penalties).

Him and LAF needs more PP time.

He's 21 and missed half the season. He is still learning. He has shown flashes but still needs work. I think it would be a huge mistake to trade him at this time.

I feel this has been an issue for pretty much his whole NHL tenure, and I also don't think it has been only a problem for him but for Chytil and Laf as well. I think all three stepped up during the playoffs which was good to see, but something is wrong if the kids have been that reserved on the ice. I mean they have been stars before the NHL.
