Dallas under performing makes me like Jim Montgomery a lot more.

Why? They have missed their #1 center and 1A/1B goalie all season. Radulov has played 11 games. The whole team basically had COVID at the beginning of the season. Roope Hintz has been in and out of the lineup. If there is a team similar to what the Rangers have gone through, it's Dallas.

Not to mention, he got fired and they immediately made a run to the finals. I'd want nothing to do with him.

Montgomery’s personal issues make him untouchable from a Rangers perspective

And besides he didn’t want to coach in a big city like NY to begin with (although he chose Dallas which isn’t exactly small lol)

Montgomery’s first and only chance to coach this team was about 3 years ago so

Why is everyone so convinced the Rangers bottom tier players are desired? The league is full of bottom tier players.

Rooney and Blackwell are out performing their contracts, you keep that. The idea they are blocking people is lunacy. This team doesn't have enough good players or quality depth (I said quality) to launch value added guys out the window to add 5th round picks.

Also, injuries are a thing. It's just unusual they are as healthy as they are right now.

I didn’t say it doesn’t ever happen. But it’s not as common and now with a flat cap teams are less looking for term on the cap going forward and more looking for rentals to go all in on the playoffs. Anyone knows they’ll have to give Buch a raise if they’re trading for him. They probably want to wait until after the playoffs to look at their cap situation and what they may do next. Ditto Strome. He’s been good but maybe you hesitate to add his 4.5M next season if you’re not sure he’ll be as successful on a different team. It’s not impossible to make something happen but the market and the situation are different and we don’t have a ticking clock to get something done today.
Carter yesterday:)

I'm not worried about them adding Hall, and their defense is in a shambles right now. Last night they iced these players on defense:

Mike Reilly isn't going to make a significant difference. They'll get McAvoy back soon, most likely, and maybe Grzelcyk as well, but Carlo is still listed as week to week.

They also have problems in goal. Swayman has done well for them, but he isn't Rask or Halak. Last night Vladar played and got lit up. Rask will probably be back soon, but it may take him a few games to shake the rust off.

We have a good chance to catch them.
actually, both veteran G (Rask/Halak) are pending UFA's it's not likely either return in 2022.... there are also reports Tuukka may go the way that Henrik did there and not return at all.... his status is day to day or game to game...

as for the current D it's debatable... but it's the physical presence.....

Carter yesterday:)

Still, Carter at 50% for one more year to a team that’s window is closing. Buch can’t be retained on because he needs a raise so if anyone acquired him, they’d know they have to negotiate a big contract this summer. With Strome, I wouldn’t really want to retain 50% and most teams probably don’t want to add 4.5M for next year. I get what you’re saying though.

he won't even do a collegiate gig, as he was at Denver and there's a section of fans wanting him at Maine and that's not happening, even an interview there never materialized, despite what the current University has gone through in the last 36 hours +

They made a run without Seguin producing.

Unless the whole team is handling COVID like Mika and got married over the summer. They are still underperforming

Anyone have a TSN stream they can PM me? Thanks!

It’s not worth watching right unless you wanna see them try to fill time with talking about the Leafs every 5 minutes. They mainly talk about the Leafs, then the rest of the Canadian teams and their prospects, whose gonna play with Matthews and Marner, trade bait board which is lead by the incomparable Mattias Janmark, whose gonna play with Tavares and Nylander, pre-recorded skits and corporate sponsors, and why Jack Campbell is the greatest goaltender since Carey Price.

Again the myth of Taylor Hall continues anon. The comments on what he got in return being incredulous that he could only get that much are mind boggling. A 2nd is exactly what he’s worth. It’s fair value.
