It's all so tiresome
I think it's Gauthier, could be wrong but I see Blackwell protected and Seattle takes the upside of Gauthier over Rooney.I would guess one of the two of rooney and blackwell is gone in expansion

Strome, Rooney and Blackwell are the only forwards we have who meet the games played required, and are under contract for next season. Assuming we protect Strome, if we protect Blackwell also, then we have to re-sign one of Howden, Gauthier or DiGi prior to the expansion draft. They meet the games played requirement, but not the contract requirement.
Vancouver is a poor example. Who are the comps to Scott Laughton? Certainly not Roussel, Eriksson, or even Sutter. Because those are really the external contracts they added. Sutter is movable but they havent had a reason to move him. You can say the other two were mistakes but again they are apples and oranges. Laughton is only 26 years old.The Canucks did a lot of damage to their rebuild by trying to buy what the Islanders have and giving all those big contracts to bottom six grinders. I didn't want the Chris Kreider contract, but they had no idea they'd be getting Laf and in a couple years he should be one of the league's top third line players: a big, fast, experienced guy who scores goals and probably gets leaned on for the PK more than he does now.
so the third team eating cap?
Let there be many trades!
So, who are the pieces moveable for a center?
I think the best tradeable piece is Miller in some sort of package.
Yeah. So Detroit gets a 4th for taking on 25% of Savards cap hit.
Buch, Strome ... heck, anybody not one of our most talented young players maybe.
I can't believe I'm reading Kakko and Lundkvist proposals too.
1 point in 35 games is hard to do. A -6 on the year as well. I dont see the upside here. He is now 24 years old and hasnt really been able to put it all together.Canes holding out Fleury. Rangers loved him in that draft year.
