He did that during last year’s Covid Cup. Again, he’s 3 years removed from the draft. He’s not some kid straight outta juniors or college. He’s been playing in the second best league in the world, throw his ass in there and see what he has. I can’t wait until training camp in September where it’ll be 4 years since his draft and we’ll still have the same question marks about him because he only played in the final few games of the season after the Rangers got eliminated from playoff contention.

The dissatisfaction around here is unbelievable. If Quinn threw him on the 4th line, there would be outrage. Now that Quinn has said he doesn't want to throw him on the 4th line there's outrage.

Let’s be honest Gauthier isn’t long for this organization anyway. Nobody is trashing Quinn for him not wanting to play him on the 4th line. Here’s a radical idea: send him to Hartford. It does his development no good by sitting around and not playing in games. Again, him skating with the team and “being around the team” shouldn’t be the goal. Development should be the goal. Send him to Hartford and let him play if he’s just gonna sit around and eat popcorn and wear a mask.

Gauthier brings a unique skill set to this forward group and big, strong power forwards take a bit to develop. Kreider took a while to become what he is today. Gauthier is the type of player that doesn’t need the puck to be effective. That’s rare with the current forward group. They should be trying to develop him as much as possible.

It matters who he’s playing with and what kind of game he’ll play. Regardless of TOI, putting him with Rooney and Blackwell isn’t giving him much of a chance to play his kind of game

How much you’re expecting that Strome signs for if you think Zibanejad’s next contract will be prohibitive to keep / afford?

Strome is at $4.5 now, right? I think he would sign for $6-$6.5. He is not going to, nor should he, get more than Kreider. I think that Strome sees the value in playing for this team, with a coaching staff that resurrected his career. And oh yeah, he also gets to center one of the top players in hockey. Maybe idealistic, but I do not think that he would go and search for every last dollar.

It's the devil you know vs the devil you don't. Pick any coach, bring him here, and the same people will start to nitpick every decision he makes until they've convinced themselves that he is a terrible coach, and then they'll be screaming for the next coach in line, and do the same thing to him.

Where is Barron going to play ? It has to be 4th line or I guess you leave him getting too AHL minutes

the top 9 won’t be changing. Only question is Gauthier or Kravtsov
