Cap Friendly showing the pick as a fourth this year. Rangers now have 2 3rds (Jimmy Vescey) and 3 4ths (Lemieux, Nemestnikov) and no second (Mark Staal)

The pick is this year, which I don't think had been confirmed up until this point.

This is a great year to take middle round flyers, IMO, given how little scouts have had a chance to see the kids play.

Can anyone help me figure out who was the last D man the Rangers signed to a 4 years or longer contract that actually finished their deal without being traded, waived, bought out, or sent down? I got as far back as 09-10 when I first started watching hockey but couldn't fine one. I thought Rozy might have been it but he was in that WW trade to the yotes.

The NYR decide to use this kid as a regular than turn around and deal him for a 4th rounder?

That's a terrible return but this crazy front office be JG'n again lol...

I really want NYR to send Kakko and Laf down to Hartford for the rest of the season to get 1st line, 1st PP, and PK minutes

I’ve been thinking for a few weeks now that this needs to happen with Laf. I think it could help him in much the same way it helped Chytil last year. Kakko is playing well and I don’t think a few more minutes against lesser competition will help him one bit.

I pray to God the trend continues with Trouba

Girardi the first time. A four year 3 mil contract roughly. It was the second long extension that was the mistake.

Actually, pretty sure Staal was the exact same scenario. Edit- yeah I was right, staal lasted a long contract for under 4 mil, and we made the same mistake with him as Danny g
